well no shit he made a big deal of it. if he loves skiing even half as much as anybody else here does, of course he's gonna make a big deal of a crash that ended and otherwise epic season for him.
after a while i was just like, fuck this. this is wierd, i didnt want to watch someone almost paralize themselves over and over again, and they did the same thing in pyp, and with dumonts part in tbc
Yeah, it was a super big deal. Tanner is like the most recognized skiier (and the best) and has never had a super big substantial season ending injury before which is a rare thing for alot of pros. So when he broke both his ankles, it sucked. The part on TBC was a bit long, but it was a gnarly crash.
simon was skiing and walking soon after. tanner was not. you neglect to realize that this truely is his life. we feel that skiing is our lives, but it is a small part of ours. it doesn't pay our bills, and most of us don't get to do it year-round.
how long did it take for dumont to recover? i thought it took a while. also did anyone see tim durtchi(sp?) in booter crunk? that didnt look like a huge crash, but god damn it looked like it hurt like fuck, and the way the edited it made it feel so tragic and terrible, i felt my heart sank, i think they did a good job with that, they kept it serious but not overplayed.
i think the "im one of the most active kids in the world" and the "like taking medicine from a dying person" were a bit overboard but it must have sucked
i spoke to Lolo Favre a couple of weeks ago and he was saying that Dumonts crash was the worst one ever...which is a bit of an exaggeration. but come on simon broke his pelvis, pretty hard bone to break.
