Advice needed

Okay, here's the deal. I can't believe I'm asking for advice on here, this is serious shit too. girls, i want input from you too.

I just moved in with my girlfriend in September, we both work and our apartment is pretty sweet actually. She just got a pretty good promotion at her job and we're living happily ever after.
I work at a company that has a sub-contract with a much larger company in Europe that I've been asked if I can go. chance of a lifetime, I will get time off to come back and forth and won't have to pay for anything.

You can see where this situation leads me. girlfriend left here and can't leave her job.. i don't want to pass up this opportunity cause it's huge but I don't want to leave her here alone either.
I don't know exactly how long i would be over there either yet.

what should I do??

shit man thats fucking tough, just talk it over with her and if everything is free like the plane tickets and everything then i dont know. could you live that far away from her for months? how good is this job?

it's a pretty sweet job.. i'm a programmer. everything would be paid for, plane, apartment, food.. my visa is even sponsered. plus i would get a nice raise. with the money i save, i could easliy pay for her to come over every once and a while.

how long are you gonna be there? if its only for like 2 years, and you can see her a handful of times between then, i would say go for it.

if its for a year, and you have 4 weeks off, i would say go for it for sure. save up some of that money and fly her out to visit you a couple of times! its no thing man, my girlfriend moved to nyc (i know its nothing like europe) and i didnt see her but 4 or 5 times over the course of a year. we have since broken up, but it can be done.

but i would say, go, if it is the chnace of your life time, and she is the one for you, she will understand and you will work it out for the better... or something like that.

you should go...have her visit you for a whole summer (or winter and ski all the time) and that would only be 2/3rds a year apart since you would be home for a month anyway. thats what i would do

99% of us have never had this dilemma including myself. But since you asked. it's hard. seems like you are pretty serious.. will she leave you if you go? it really depends on how serious the relationship, but yea that is a chance of a lifetime. i think it depends on how serious the relationship was.

hey, so we had 'the talk'.. and after all the facts, it's not going to be as bad as we thought. I'm going to be gone for a max of 3 months at a time and I'll be flown back and forth after that amount of time as a stipulation in my contract at their expense. Food and accomadations are being handled by them too!! It's in northern Italy, so lots of skiing is a very real option for me in the alps. St Anton here I come!!!!

talk it out, but you should go cause this sounds like a great oppurtunity plus living in europe is amazing, if she loves you she will make the right decision... if not, it wasnt meant to be and theres someone else out there for ya

heres my deal badfish. i was living with my gf since january and in middle in august i decided i was gonna move to the ottawa area which is 10 hours from my original home. she was not happy about this as she just started university. she was trying to get me stay and was trying everything to do so. i talked it ou with her before i left and it kind of made things better but when the day came for me to leave she was a fucken mess and i felt so bad seeing her like that so i highly suggest you talk it over with your hoe about it. if its just a contract thing that youll be there for a year or two then it shouldnt be a problem. just buy webcams for the both of you and it will help things so much by camming every night or second night.

I would say tell her that oyu just want to try it, My girlfriend is still in highschool and I jsut went to college this year, and her parents won't let her see me now that I am a college student and things are doin ok and we have been apart for like 3 months, just talk on the phone whenever we can or on the net. If you love her enough and she loves you enough thing will work fine.

How much paid vacation does your girlfriend get? That's a factor because she can't just visit much unless she's on paid leave. Plus, where in europe?

i was gone for a month and came back (was in italy and sweden). Next week, I go back to italy for possibly 6 months. It's all working out - skype is amazing.
