I am currently in the Army serving in Iraq on my second trip over here. I have spent about two years over here and was in one the lead units during the invasion. If anyone has any questions about what it is REALLY like over here and not what the media feeds people I will gladly answer them. All I ask is that I know many don't support the war you all must still support the soldiers. Thanks
Something had to be done over there, so I'm not totally opposed to the war. I do completely support the soldiers, however, because they're doing their job and doing it well and deserve a ton of respect for that. Someone I know is leaving to serve in Iraq in about 6 months, so I'll know about what it's really like over there after that. Good luck over there, and thanks for all you've done!
My cousin served in the Marines and was part of the LAV ( i believe is what its called) he drove a tank, and he was part of the first group into baghdad and all those cities , he had some crazy stories
this might sound stupid but are cafeteria at school doesn't have gatorade right now because pepsi is shipping it to Iraq is this true? my friend from my home hill is over there right now.
How do the everyday locals feel about you there?
I mean really, how do they react, I don't wanna know about aid operations or anything, are they glad to see you, or do they see you as the enemy?
Sorry about not responding quick. Yea I know alot of people think some bad choices were made over here but believe me when I say there are no easy answers. My free time is mostly spent on the net or playing basketball or reading, stuff like that. The local population is for the most part pretty indifferent to us being here. Most of the time they only really wanna deal with us when their water lines break or their power goes out. Most of the people are too afraid to say anything to us about where the bad guys are because the bad guys will then try and kill them if they know they are helping the americans. One of you was right though, this place is doomed. Most people around the world are proud of the country they come from and would do what it takes to see it succeed but these people are only concerend about themselves. I am coming home in early Jan after a year here. I was first here during the intial invasion and spent a year so after two years and two trips here I know this place pretty well. If any of you watched CNN during the invasion the unit that they followed is the unit I am in. ( 3/7 CAV ) I am a army scout and will be leaving the army once I get home in Jan. I am always ready to answer any questions, so let me know if ya have any. And to answer one more, The 2000th soldier to be killed was the other day. I myself have lost freinds over here and it is pretty ruff. So the next time someone is complaining about how awfull their life is because of some petty thing, think about all your countrymen giving there lives over here. Later guys.
yea there are really camel spiders which are freakin huge anywhere from the size of your hand on up. They are not scared of anything, except flash lights. They only come out at night and are mostly in the desert not the cities like baghdad.
FUCK YOU LORD my friends were twice then men you will ever be, it's people like you that need to do a couple years in the military, you might learn some things. Like HONOR,DUTY,SACRIFICE, AND SELFLESS SERVICE.
Are you allowed to drink over there? I heard somewhere that you can't. That would suck to have one of the most stressful and dangerous jobs in the world and not be able to have a beer at the end of the day.
I have had two friends/relatives die over there. Another friend of mine has just gone out there. If you see Andy Brooks Please tell him Mitch wishes him luck and tells him to stay safe.
Yes. Fuck you piot you fat overweight unintellectual prick. How can you call out others who are doing things while your fat ass can sit back and complain. Lose weight and gain some credibility. How can we listen to someone who can't even keep their own health in check.
