Water-proof-ed-ness of Pants

alrite, i had some denims that were waterproof to 10 000mm, they were amazing, and i went swimming a couple times with no problem. these new pants im checkin are only 4000mm. im wondering if anyone has had experience with pants with protection to this lower degree, and how they held up in 'wetter' condition. are they a safe bet in the soggy ontario spring?

4000 sucks you will get wet, even with 10000 id always get wet. 20000 usually kept me pretty dry all day if its dumping, but now I dont wear anything but goretex, i like being warm and dry.

If you think you can go swimming in 10,000, 4,000 won't be to bad. But I'd still try to get some higher waterproofig if it worries you that much. I'd just suck it up and get wet once in awhile.
