Im a snow addicted loser and this storm has found me checking mountwashington.org like every day now. They have like 6 feet of base in tuckermans now and i just wnated to know if anyone has ever skied tuckermans this time of year. You think its safe if you just went up to ski some powder and build a kicker. If you stayed off the headwalls and in the base of the ravine do you think thered be much avalanche trouble? none of the avalanche advisories are up cuz its too early in the season but i really wanna go up in the next few weeks. Also does anyone know what the snow is like up at stowe right now?
aparantly people have been hitting up the snowfields, but this storm is way more intense below the summit and based on the winds up there lately i don thtink itd be wise to go above the headwall
tucks is probably not a good place to be right now. 6 feet wont cover much up there, theres usually 40 to 50 feet or more of base when its skied in the spring. Im sure you could build a small jump in the floor of the ravine somewhere but that def wouldnt be worth the hike. Im sure theres an avalanche danger as well with all this new wet snow. Sherburne ski trail would be a better bet.
