who really cares? they were both fucking horrible crashes. this whole "who's better than who" type of mentality is stupid. they were both seriously injured, so why turn it into a contest? all i know is that i really wouldn't want to be either of them right then.
simon pretty much fell off an apartment building, whereas tanner tried to jump a car moving straight at him at 53 mph which just clipped his feet. both were pretty fuckin brutal, but i'd say simon's.
I just think we should be happy that two of this sports greatest athletes survived their respective crashes.
Hope they both get fully restored and ride harder than ever this season, and my thoughts also go to Lars Veen, definetly woulda been the "next big thing" if it wasn't for his crash. Hope he recovers.
Dumont went further, fell harder and sustained worse injuries, Tanner is still nursing his wounds because he cant get over his fall from the top of skiing.
Seriously, Dumont fell 200 or so feet, Tanner only went like 120. Chads gaps landing is about 20 or so feet down from the takeoff vertically, Dumont landed about 100 feet vertically down. Tanner did hit a wall with little softening, but still, Dumont hit hardpack.
People hit chads all the time, Candide decked into the landing way back when 3 times in a row, then overshot it massivly, landed on his back and then proceeded to whip a d-spin over it. Granted, there was a lot more powder, but still, in terms of parabolic arcs, Chads doesnt compare at all to what Simons was.
simon got lucky, tanner didn't. people break their arms falling off bikes.. the severity of their injuries have nothing to do with the question you've posed in the title
i can't think of a worse feeling than hitting off that lip, and realizing how high you are and how far yoy are going to go all the way to the flat... so much time to be like : im so freaking screwed.
like strode said: he should be paralyzed, or dead.
uh what kinda question is this, tanner has a totally differnt impact than dumont had. dumont fell from the sky onto the ground. tanner came up short on the landing and hit the side.
obviously simon, tanner is landing in some powder on that shot, he had some cushion, hard fall none the less but im suprised simons legs still work after that overshot, WOW and the sound of that crash haha ouch.
dumont for sure. do you know what time it was when that happened? it was like 7 am, before the mtn opened. the snow was like hard as ice, just watch how much flies up when he hits, nothing. its like falling 100 ft onto a hockey rink. t-halls was bad, but i mean, come on man, ice vs powder, altho he did case, but still. dumont.
tanner's crash looked more painful but, everyone hates overshooting a jump. after you clear the landing you just freeze and think oh shit this is gonna suck and wham you hit the ground. Dumont's fall was just plain out nuts and tanners was just scary.
yeah, smashing your face directly into thin snow at over 50 mph and then scorpioning so your boots just about bash the back of your head isn't life-threatening at all. you're totally right. there's nothing life-threatening about rupturing a disc in your spine, crushing the bone in your nose back into your brain, or whiplashing your neck so hard that it breaks your spine.
both of them are lucky to still be breathing, let alone skiing. as much as i can't stand Tanner, i definitely hope he has a full recovery.
simon dumont fell soooooo much harder, he dropped at least 40- 60 ft out of the air onto HARD groomed snow. that was shot at like 7 in the morning before the resort even opened, so is was basically just like falling onto concrete
T landed on very thin snow far far from powder plus dumont hit flat tanner hit uphill and basically tanners injuries were worse and there are cold hard facts to back that up ,simon recovered much much faster meaning tanners fall was harder on him because he had more time off skiing, plain and simple guys no more needs to be said thems the facts...
dude you cant be serious he couldt walk at all for 2 months dumont was like full recovered by southern hemisphere winter in NZ...tannerh will prob take all next season to "fully" recover i think it will be a slow season fer tanner this one..
