Oshawa Ski Club is having their open house this Sunday Oct. 30th...We are working on truckin' in snow to set up a rail...will be open for anyone to hit it up. I'll let you know closer to the day if it is for sure or not. So far it sounds like it will be a go.
k...somehow mark got a ridiculous amount of snow. We're gonna have 3 rails (small flat bar, box, and an old playground slide turned into a rail). Looks like it will be up and running around 11:30 am. You're gonna have to sign a waiver (and if under 19, a parent will have to sign)...wear a helmet...no charge. Just open jib session (it's not a comp).
I've posted a pic under my profile if you wanna see what's going on.
thanx, taht was me. over all it was a really fun day. there was a rusty rail, a big box, and a sketchy playground slide. I lost my brand new Grenade Team C935's tho, and am really pissed. if anyone sees them there XL and brand new, i no that if you had them you wouldent want to give them back, but i want them back
Hey i was there but couldnt ride which sucked but i saw some good riding by the locals and i got some footage ill post later but it was a sick little session i think the ski hills around the area sould have more of those
I got to thinking, and how many resorts have you been to where the head honcho (aka GM, Manager..etc) personally sets up a rail jam like this. All the GM's I've ever known are pencil pushers who really don't care to do stuff like this. Whereas Mark, the new GM for OSC, personally set up the rails, got the snow from the rink, and was pushing the snow around this morning when I stopped by. I'm guessin' he probably hit the shit up too!!!
Ya he seems rad... When i first met him skiers werent' allowed in the park and he cut my pass a couple times... but the last two years he seems real chill.. Especailly at the end of last season it was cool to see him rippin it in the park... Every resort needs a GM with that kind of commitment
Thanks for coming out guys.....I've wanted to do that for a long time....we've got a lot of great pics, some will go to the web site, some are going out in a press release to all the big papers.....I didn't get a chance to ride, my skis were in the truck, I was just to busy....Cheers, see you in the park.....MARK
ok park wardon stewart, talk to people at dagmar and get one set up, seeing as how your park wardon and all. you told me you working this weekend, run it buy some people and work something out
ya the day was definatly awesome...right after the snowboarding douches that were there before left. Near the end people were getting to know people and it turned out to be an ill session, nobody got hurt which was a suprise but if I coulda put my money on an injury up and comming it would have been public_enemy falling on the rail many times....cleaned it good though!
