alright me and my bro have been planning to make a park in our backyard last year we made this box out of wood which is solid..... we have one problem, we need to find a material to make it slide but not expensive. Do you think sheet metal would work? And if anyone has n e other ideas that would be sweet.
pure lexan would KILL! that is material has the least friction known to man. If you put a piece of pure lexan on a table, it will slowly start to slide off, unless the table is EXACTLY DEAD FUCKEN centered or really rough like a 2 x 4. crazy shit eh.
Just spend a lot of time... For the box we used just wood with metal copings and then used a farm fence as a rail. Here's a shot of his backyard from the 15ft. dropin...
fuck no, pvc is really expensive, i think its 400$ a sheet.. 4 by 8 feet is a sheet i think. im using plexi glass, thick though, it owrked really well lest yeaar, especially cause i waxed it a bit and it slid for the whole day well.
i was in french class today, and i was looking at the whiteboard, and i thought to myself, wow that would be a dope ass box. so whateveer material a whiteboard is, it would be good to make a fatty box
Put a couple of pvc pipes next to eachother. Thats what I will do, I think it is going to work well. Use smaller pipes but more of them so you have better contact with the rail.
for the wide rail me and my buddy built we just took to pieces of round pvc piping and screwed them into the wood about a inch from each other. you could do something like that or do what someone said above and just place a bunch next to each other, that would probably be the cheapest.
if you use edgeless skis you can slide on whatever the hell you want to. OR HERES AN IDEA, MY SNOWBOARDER FRIEND USED AJAX WAX AND LOADED THE SHIT ONTO HIS BOX AND THE WOOD SLIDES CRAZY GOOD!! ITS AMAZING. AND AFTER 2 SEASONS IT STILL WORKS FINE
Im thinking that if I make a really sturdy wood base, I can lay, 3-4 PCV pipes down, and have a pretty decent "double shotgun" :-P think it wuold work?
