so me and my dad made this kick ass box!!! he had 3 peices of acrilic sheet stuff that is 10 inches wide and 4 feet long. so its almost 12 feet long. now i gotta make an in run so i can use it! and paint it!
actually it didnt cost anything. my dad is a carpenter, so he had all the wood, and he had the acrylic stuff for the topsheet in the attic. and we got the medal poles from my grandfather. its wicked heavy though
yeah i got a huge load of wood for free bc my uncle is a carpenter but i need a top sheet and i was thinking of acrylic but it seems like it wouldnt be hard enough and you would just stick,,, do you think a top sheet of acrylic would be good enough????
advice for anyone building - although not always possible, try and get your parents behind your build. once behind, if you ask them for help for supplies or skills or whatnot, its soo much easier. also, once you get em on ur side, they offer things too. As soon as i got my dad on my side for rails/boxes, hes gon hook me up with a friend of his who's a pro welder. as i said you can't always get it, but when u do its so sweet.
also, ur dad or uncle doesn't have to be a carpenter - if u no anybody who is, or if u find any hardware stores (rona, home depot, etc) you can always ask them if they have any spare/scrap wood. if you take the time too look, sometimes you'll get big sheets of wood, or relatively long beams (simply cuz they weren't big enough for what they were ment for)
