granola usually has lots of sugar in it doesn't it? It's been a while since i took science but doesn't excess sugar get metabalized into carbohydrates and then carbs metabalized into fat? or something to that extent?

Total carbs are 25g's (8% DV) but it has 6g of dietary fiber(25% DV) so it's pretty damn good. There are a few different types of sugars and carbs anyway you cant really generalize. Dietary fiber also helps negate carb induced spikes in insulin aswell. Insulin pretty much puts your body into sponge mode and you soak up lots of stuff (great for combining with protein for body building) but really bad to mix with fats since you will store them much easier. Thats why they said you shouldn't mix carb/fat meals because they lead to increased fat gain. So french fries =bad news, exc
