you can pretend all you want to be rastaby praying to ja oh and have dreads cause they are a very important part of a rastas life The dreadlocks on a Rasta's head symbolize the Rasta roots, contrasting the straight, blonde lock of the white man. Dreads do not only portray the Rastafarian heritage, but their adornment is supported in the Bible: "They shall not make baldness upon their head, neither shall they shave off the corner of their beard, nor make any cuttings in the flesh" (Leviticus 21:5). The way the Rastas' hair grows has come to represent the symbol of the Lion of Judah. Further, dreadlocks have come to depict rebellion of the system and the "proper" way to wear hair. oh and im hoping that you only eat I-tal food. This is unique food because it never touches chemicals and is completely natural. The food is cooked, but served in the rawest form possible, without salts, preservatives, or condiments. Devoted Rastafarians, therefore, are completely vegetarian. Drinking preferences rest with anything that is herbal, such as tea. Liquor, milk, coffee, and soft drinks are viewed as unnatural. oh and hold up a second if you were a true rasta you would have to hate yourself because the 1st belief of a rasta is the hatred of white people. and you have to want to go BACK to africa if you look through your family line i dont think there will be many africans jusdging by the color of your skin. and before you call bullshit on my infomation i got it from a true rasta a good friend of mine that just came back from a pilgramige to africa. so rock the colors all you want but understand by wearing them you are hating yourself if ur white. oh and im not white im a mix of aborigine and white so im not hated on.

devoting yourself to a religion that contradicts many traits and aspects of you and your lifestyle is hypocritical. a white female 'rasta' in university? hmm nope not agreeing with the ways of a 'rasta'. not trying to knock anyone here. it just bothers me when people claim they are devoted to something but take shortcuts and cut corners. religion and faith doesn't work that way.

I beleive the difference between colors is simply green gold red is the color of Ethiopias flag I beleive.
