YOU ARE AN IDIOT. skiboarding is gay and you can't say anything to change anyone's mind here. And don't give me this opinion shit. Your opinion is wrong. change it. End of Story.
Go to http://www.wikipedia.org/ and look up babylon LIL Gordian. That is the best encyclopedia on the net. This is a good conversation. It's intelligent.
u are so right hakf the kids here prolly dont even kno what the colours stand for and if u dont its......The color red stands for the Church Triumphant which is the church of the Rastas. Also symbolises the blood that martyrs have shed in the history of the Rastas. Green represents the beauty and vegetation of Ethiopia, the promised land. Yellow is also sometimes added to represent the wealth of their homeland.
and julian you are an idiot you just copied and pasted that from the other rastafarian thread. plus in every post you make you either are in caps typing something like "HAHHAH THAT IS SOOOOO TRUE HAHHA" or something horribly mispelled.
have any of you arrogant pricks even considered that people might just think those colors look good together, and so they wear them for that reason alone? it's not all about you, and it's not all about your 'religion'. colors can have many different meanings or even no meaning at all. In the middle east, Green is the color of life. In Great Britain, it is the symbol or racing and speed. In America, it is the color of money. And some people just wear it cause it matches their goddamn shoes that day. One person who wears Red/Yellow/Green might be Rasta and another person who wears it might just have thought Candide's goggles were cool looking. It doesn't matter. Nobody owns those colors. Rasta may be against oppresion, and Red/Green/Yellow may be their colors, but if I want to use Red/Green/Yellow to promote Facism, or Racism I could do that too. (I wouldn't, but thats not the point.)
not religion. WAY OF LIFE. and there are other ways of life to. Example: would youwear a swastika around if you werent a nazi? do you celebrate hanukuh if you arent jewish? thats the same kind of thing.
Actually, for Native Americans, the swastika represents the "Wheel of Life" and it is a good luck sign, and for Buddhists, it represents the sun circling the sky, and for some tribes in Africa, it is also worshiped as a symbol of the sun. See? Different meanings for different people.
ya i am still growing, like i am only a young lioness, i haven't gone to NO MEAT yet, or no preservatives.
so far i have stopped eating pork, i don't drink caffene, don't take medicine, don't cut my hair or style it, don't drink or do any drugs other then herb, tried to cut out as much salt as i can, stopped putting a razor to my skin i shave with razorless products
and some more things, and like when i am with my boyfriend i don't wear deoderant or purfume.
i still wash and comb my hair cause i can't dread my hair til i am out of college (parents rules and shit)
skibrd..whatever, you said yourself that people wear "rasta" colors for different reasons. you even asked your good friend ashley. you can't possibly go around asking every kid on the street if he is reppin' the colors for reasons that meet your approval. so just deal with it.
no salt, no chemicals, no flesh, no milk, no alcohol, no cigarettes, no drugs. you can't even eat processed sugar.
do you adhere to the i-tal way of eating? something tells me your parents just wouldn't allow it....
as for the hair thing...that is ridiculous. your parents can't stop you from dreading your hair. what are they going to do?! cut it off? in that case, they aren't taking their daughter's religious choices very seriously and you should consider taking all the money you've saved up at A&C and moving out with your Lion King. simbaaaaa.
or, you could just sell your dior purse.
either way, please don't come to canada. for your sake and ours.
I don't think that Abercrombie allows dreads anyways. They're pretty strict about what their employees look like. No fat people, no Asians, and probably no dreads.
actually if i dread my hair or get peirced or tattooed while at college my parents will stop paying for school for me. i had to sign a LEGAL document stateing that if i did any of these 3 things that my college would no longer be paid for. thats my reason for not dreading my locks yet
you dont need a legal document to cut someone off from their school. your 18, an adult, able to support yourself, how about trying that for once and not mooching off your parents like most of todays teens
i don't mouch off my parents, the trust isn't even from them if you really want to know. my parents help me out a lil but i make my own money to buy my own things
so skiboard i cant wear the colors at the same time cuz rastas clai it and im not rasta? I cant just wear it cuz say i like how it looks. So can i not wear green red and white at the same time cuz im not italian or mexican? Just wondering??
If the colrs mean something to you in that order GREAT. To me they are fucking colros and i like how they look and i wll continue to wear them.
