Im not an American, but I do know the military potential of your country, and it is a scary thing. If the US attacks Iraq again, which hardly has the military power it did in Desert Storm, the US will kick the fuckin shit out of those sand monkeys in a couple weeks, you guys got cruise missiles, B2s, F-22s, X-17s, everything! Saddam has proven he can kill ruthlessly, one of his sons is even a rapist and in charge of the national torture chamber which Saddam uses to torture national soccer players who do not preform well. And why would Bush bomb Iraq over wanting to secure oil trade? That's stupid. There is a small enough percentage of oil coming from Iraq itself that it could be easily sort somewhere else. The only way the US could secure oil from that area is to actually invade and 'TAKE' the land which would not be tolerated by the world.

Saddam is a psycho and should not be in power there's no debating that. but the different ways of taking him out of power are opinions. Improving Us-Iraq relations and undoing the wrongs that have been done to Iraq by the US and getting saddam voted out of power is one, Going in there and killing Saddam is another.
I personally believe that the US shouldn't need to go into Iraq. But their past situations, the possesion of deadly gasses and the possibility of Iraq being able to develop neuclear tech. without UN supervision means that they need to do something about it.
But that's my opinion. and I didn't say they needed to go in and cause a war. they needed to make it a visible issue. and 'kicking the shit out of them' is the worst idea, if 1000 people die on the american side but saddam is killed is it a success? what about 1000 Iraqees and saddam killed and a whole country that hates america even more, success still?

Tim , Im sorry for any personal attacks, and you are right about war, it is not the right thing to do in most cases, and what the US will do to Iraq and Saddam will probibly never escalate to the Level of a war, more of a precion bombing campaign. But Iraq has been found with over 7 types of extremely deadly Bio weapons like small pox, and ricin. And Saddam himself is not a moral man and someone that should be at the head of a radical islamic state. I just want my home to be safe, and my friends, and I myself you help in any endevor to protect my home. Would you?

yah I agree with you there. I also want my friends, family and self to be safe. However I wouldn't fight for my homeland. Personally I'm not very patriotic. I think that 99.5% of politicians are lying, hypocrates who I would personally throw my $5 rum & cokes at if I saw them in town. I often send abusive letters to my countries leaders telling them to get their heads out of each others asses (in nicer words) and do the jobs they're supposed to be doing, the jobs that 20% of my hard earned cash pays them to do. But yes, you're right.

Alright this is gonna be short but hopefully concise enoungh to shut Iceland the fuck up.
Many people who are aware of what actually happens in the world despite it not appearing on the six'o'clock news, belive that if the population continues to live in ignorance, society will transform into a goverment controlled state such as in George Orwell's 1984. However, as we can see in society today, people musn't be controlled be their goverment to lose suffering (which is the essence of humany). The blissful numbness present in America today is product of our overt freedom. Of course freedom is essential, but in America we have surrendered our democracy for the belief that we control our destiny.

By assuming that we have control the goverment, they have gained control over us. If the American people continue to remain ignorant of their cultureless situation, they will create many enemies in the name of self-preservation. As America continues to treaten Iraq and its people, Suddan Huisan (sp?) will use this treat to rally his people in much the same way that Bush continues to rally his people.
I find a stark similarity between the American and Iraqi people.
And, of course to quote Homer in a completely unrelated matter:

The thing is saddam is hated by fundamentalists, Osama Bin Laden has said he is'the worst kind of despot'. If we take out saddam who are you going to replace him with, the iraqi population is going to be distrustfull of any government connected to the US, and more likely than not a fundamentalist will end up in power, and have access to all the knowledge about weapons of mass destruction. Also if the states attack iraq unilaterly you'll only create more terrorism. But this is just my opinion.

It's all been said before basically.
Proven fact, that countries without a strong democratic background, have a very low chance of Democratic Governments being successful. There's just not enough trust of the government. So if you take out Saddam, you will just end up having civil conflict for a period. Somalia is a good example. Democratic ideals were set up,a nd terrible fighting and civil distress followed, and it's actually been discovered that the country cannot function as a demcracy no matter how much you try. And there's a good chance of Iraq being similar. So basically, you will have civil unrest for a period, followed by the rise of anotherdictator or fundamentalist most likely anti-american anways. It's all an irreversable vicious cycle.

Deal is, Iraq may or may not be fucked up; the way our media is, we'll never know for certain. But the classification of Iraq as a rogue nation and the current government campaign for war support will only lead to no good. I don't know the true reason for way (because it's NOT to remove Saddam), but I know that if the Administration gets the war that it wants, then Iraq will fire missiles in defense (defense, mind you), and everyone will say 'Wow, they shot missiles. Looks like Bush was right after all.'
Apparently weapons treaties are out of the question, or any matter of diplomacy for that matter. The Iraqi VP called UN inspectors 'spies' in his country... well, he's right. We'll pinpoint weapons locations so that we know right where to drop our bombs when we go in--- because regardless of whether or not Iraq will destroy its weapons, the Administration wants to destroy them first, and crush the infrastructure of a starving country while it's at it.

I have 3 buddies that are army rangers, 2 that are marines, 1 that is a navy seal and 1 that is in the airforce. 4 of them want to go to war, and the others will do what they have to. Everyone that is bashing bush, has a right to, but you gotta understand that he is not making all the descisions, ther are a lot of people behind him telling him what to say. I will agree that bush's intrests are mostly in oil, but i have to hope that someone behind him has a lot better of a reason to go to war. There is so much that we don't know that government officals do we can only pray that we elect ones that won't get us all killed. Tim, I think it is a little extreme comparing Bush to hitler, but we all have our own opinions. All we can do is pray for peace.

We all know Iraq and Saddam have bombs, or had bombs. During Desert Storm, the US, Canadian, and British elite forces covertly destroyed many missle sites, biological stations...
I think killing Saddam may be good for Iraq, the people there live in fear of him. It could point the country in a different direction.
I don't understand how bombing Iraq is going to get oil for the US. 'ok boys, we got the oil now, quick, fill your pockets, rucksacs, webbing, canteens...'
Its going to be a little difficult walking out with millions of litres of oil. And no one over here is in dire need of oil for quite a little while.
