That's still not a valid argument, because alcohol does not need to be consumed to the point of being drunk. If you smoke weed, you smoke it for one reason; to get high. As I've said before, when I'm at dinner with my parents and my dad orders a beer, it isn't to get drunk. YES, many younger people and older people as well drink to get drunk, but you CAN drink without getting drunk. You Don't smoke for the taste, you smoke for the high. That's a reason why Alcohol won't be illegalized and weed cannot be compared to it.

thats a moronic argument, if i just took one little hit off a pipe that would be the same thing as just drinking a beer, and people do smoke just a bit to become relaxed, and when you use the term "getting high" yo act like people are smoking weed to get feel better or happier about themselves, people dont smoke weed to do that, coke painkillers, and heroin are basically drugs that make people high so they feel better, yes it makes you high, but its not a feel good drug really, it is one of the best anti-anxiety medications though, also you have to look at what each drug does in excess, and alchohol is by far worse than weed in any aspect of the matter, its impossible to OD from weed and people that smoke are chill, not like a lot of drunks who get pissed and fuck shit up and get in fights

there are times when i want to be a little high, for instance: doing things that could change my life (SATs, exams, etc.) and other times when i want to be really REALLY high (movies, concerts, school in general). i could care less if it was legalized im still gonna smoke like a mother fucker

my point is there are legal herbs that are supposed to make you high, and also things like salvia, my point was that those arent illegal so the the fact that you smoke weed to get high shouldnt make it illegal, the reason it is illegal is because of propoganda bullshit that made everyone think it was such a horrible thing, sadly the majority of the public still think its a horrible thing for some reason, so no politician will risk the loss of votes if they ever tried to get it to be legalized, but when you look at it in a strict medical sense weed does hardly anything to you, so basically there is no real reason for weed to be illegal, its basically the publics skewed perception of it and the politicians being such pussys

More than 80,000 people have died from alchohol consumption. 0:80,000+. Which is the better drug now?

I'm not arguing with the fact that alcohol is dangerous. A girl from my school got hit by a drunk driver on friday, I know how dangerous it is. I'm just saying that from a government standpoint, alcohol can be consumed without reaching a high, while weed is smoked for the high, no matter how little it is.

My point of view? Legalize it, I don't care. I don't smoke, but it doesn't effect me. Make the smokers happy!

Spoken in true ignorance man. Weed can be smoked to the point of getting high or not, it all depends on how much. You won't get high off one puff or one bong rip. Just like you won't get high off one beer, or even 3 beers. The point is that weed can be taken without getting high despite what you and the government thinks, just like alcohol. Except alcohol is way more dangerous.

I'm not ignorant. I know that you can get high if chosen, but when do you ever see people smoke to NOT get high? I've never experienced that. I HAVE experienced people drinking alcohol, but not to a point of intoxication.
