Why do people take this site so seriously? Why is there so much drama, overreacting and immature whining if something seems to put someones e-life in jeopardy?
I see this site as a great and wonderful place to congregate, discuss and laugh with fellow skiers, people who share the same passion. The admins and mods in charge of the smooth running and keeping on track of the site do a great, great job. i have learned a lot from this site, and i thank you.
But those facts nonewithstanding, it remains a message board on the internet, surely our lives are not limited in their existence by it (though some admins may have sold their soul, but they're special). We will likely never meet the people with which we quarrel, and our energy would best be spent on something otherwise more productive than overreacting and stressing out over what some body did or has said oceans away.
So why, i ask you, do people take this SO seriously? In the past month, i have had my fair share of e drama, from 2 great cults respectively, and i wnder why this is. The later case is all about overreaction and dramatisation, the first about overreaction and elitism. But WHY? why is it so important to so many people waht happens on here? hell, the fact that im writing this shows i care, or don't care, whichever anymore.
Does everything need to be a soap? can we actaully co exist, explain our differences, and get along? or would we rather have people talk to the hand, cos the face ain't listening? i dislike when people jump to conclusions, or feel threatened in their e-security, when, really, safe those who work and live off of this site, this is all frivolous.
why?....
