hey I am thinkin about going to Denver university and wanted some fellow ns members advice, preferably if you are already a student there. Whats it like, etc. Thanks
Its pretty good, and living in Denver is awesome. I dont know alot of people that go to DU because I just moved up here too. I go to a different school though. But as far as school in Denver goes, I dont think you can beat it because your right next to the mountains but still in a big city.
im a freshman at du. i love it here. it's so much fun, and you also get a really good education. definently visit the school; all the facilities are really nice. email me or message me if you have any questions at all.
yeah DU is pretty sick. i am studying abroad as a junior at DU right now and i can fill you in on just about anything you wanna know. im connected to a lot of administration and staff so if you wanna know even random stuff i can get you hooked up
bump. im applying this year and i go for a visit in march but its not like the schools on the east where i can drive a couple hours and look at it again if i want to.
I got into CC and DU and i know they are all pretty different, but is denver really a super preppy school? Cause im definatly not down for that... im visiting again this March so i guess i'll see for myself, but it would be good to hear from t he NS'ers that go ther
i dont go there but i was thinking about going there. but then i visited it and its really nice... but it kinda reminds me of a country club... my cousin goes to CC and it is cool but its filled with super liberals. im left leaning but these kids make me laugh.
DU is about an hour closer to ski resorts tho... but visit them both and see for yourself. check out CSU too. its not as academically rigorous but its pretty chill. i think thats where im gonna go next year.
when your in colo spgs visiting CC if u want to go up skiing hit me up
When i went and visited the school, I really didnt meet a bunch of preppy kids. Everyone obviously has money to go there since its expensive even if your in state but i mean money really doesnt mean anything about a persons character. I mean, I will admit that my family has quite a bit of money but that doesnt make me a stuck up rich bitch. I chill, ski, smoke, party, and study just like anyone else. I wouldnt base your decision off whether the kids are rich or preppy but rather on if the school has the location, programs, and size your looking for. I want to major in International Business and DU is basically has a top 10 business school across the country. It has alot of study abroad programs, close skiing, a big city, and the size i feel i can get out in but not get lost in. DU '11 here i come.
i would... i wouldnt want to go to a school for four years where people suck...i'd rather spend 4 years in a place with people like me... fuck facilities, that aint shit if you're having a shitty ass time drinking smoking and skiing all on your lonesome
fo sho. u will have the worst time of ur life if u cant get along with the other kids at ur school. fuck top 10 business schools. visit there... but about %50-65 of ur decision should be based on the other students
i the other kids are like u they will probably have the same work ethic as u
True but how would you know if the people do suck... if they do... ill switch schools. Its not like ur binded to any school for 4 years... id rather start at DU and see what its like... you would only have to go for a semester....i dont know... cheaper for me to go to DU anyways
u dont know for sure if they are douches or not but you can get a good idea when u visit. its not like you meet everyone that goes to the school when u visit... u kinda have to stereotype... u dont really get to meet the kids when u visit so u kinda have to guess from the way they dress and what they r doing (like riding a skateboard) u also get a vibe from the school... i dont think stereotyping is a good thing but its better than winging it and sayin "yea fuck it ill go and if i dont like it ill switch schools" that just doesnt seem like a very good idea...
and what other schools r u looking at cause DU is NOT cheap. its like $38k a year...
Other than Denver is got into USF, CU Boulder, Santa Clara, and U of O.
Yeah denver is expensive but their giving me an 8,000 scholarship a year just for good academics. Boulder is way more expensive and gave me no money. Both USF and Santa Clara are the same amount as Denver but also didnt offer me any money so really Denver was the Cheapest school for me to go to school other than U of O because i live in Oregon. I want to go out of state though soo.....Il let you know how dope DU is bro.
I got into denver and UVM and have to make a choice pretty quickly. I like Denver because of its skiing but i really prefer the people at UVM and burlington is a sick town. Any suggestions?
im going there next year, im so pumped, my friend is moving out to denver as well to go to the film schools, hes hoping to get big into filming out there. were both from MN and im so excited
If anyone's still wondering about this... I went to CC - graduated last year - and one of my good friends is a senior at DU. I can answer stuff about both schools, just let me know.
im from the cities, the st. paul one. me and my friend (moving to denver to go to the film school) will be looking for a good crew of skiers to make a movie next season, but well get into that more next season, when do most mountains open? mostly echo?
why echo? their park is no where close to keystone or breck or vail or copper (when it's maintained), and that's all there is there. im just saying, if you want to meet people, keystone is a good place to go, tons of people ride their all season, sick park and a park only chair.
looking forward to going next year. is there a closer, smaller mountain that alot of kids go to just to dick around or do most kids drive a bit farther and ski breck, echo, and places like that?
echo is the mountain your talking about, it's closer. keystone and breck are the best in the country though, i like keystone better, but i skied there probably around 50 days this year as opposed to like 15 at breck.
Dude DU is a fucking sick place, I go to CU Boulder personally but I am living down near DU right now, and it is just a really nice area, pretty much where I grew up. It is a fucking rip off though. So expensive, and CU Boulder is a much better deal for me personally (if I got a mad scholarship I would probably go to DU). I guess that is what you get with a private school The thing DU has going for it is a sick Business program, and an awesome real estate program as well. . Also, the people at Du are much different than people at CU IMO, much richer, and more spoiled. They also go to bars much more often! This is all I know.
