It is easier to break legs on them, but not tear acls since you don't put the same torque on the knee. Also I gurantee I have skied deeper pow on skiboards than half the kids on this message board, at least the east coast kids. I am dead serious.
Cause we have way more style and steeze. Think of it... we can do so much more and need more control with two things to worry about, they can only do so much with one.
It's funny because people rip on skiboards and don't realize that it wasn't too long ago when you'd actually see just as many, if not more skiboarders in the park. Kids also oohh and ahhh over Line, but don't realize they used to sell more skiboards than twintips.
Anyway maybe it doesn't look "cool", but who gives a shit. If people have fun doing it let them do their own goddamn thing.
I bet anyone here that if we posted "why do we hate freestyle skiers so much" on a snowboarding website we would see something much like this. Its all about preference, plus rarely do we see kids coming on this site who snowblade flaming up for having poles and no steeze. So whats the reason behind me hating snowblading? Because of threads like these.
Snowblading will be accepted in the future. Skiers will realize their heir of their ways and find that smaller skis are better on rails. Snowboarders use 143's and such. I gurantee that within 5 years skiers will be using 150 on street rails and tech rail tricks. Spinning a 270 onto a street rail with center mounted 180cm skis is far too hard, shorter, flexier skis will come into the scene and revolutionize street rails. You heard it here first.
