alright, so what's the deal with people today? I am a poor skier who can't afford a car, and doesn't like paying for the greyhound (can't there be a cheaper way?)...
i've been relying on hitch hiking for my main mode of transporation for the past 6 years, and it's been getting harder and harder to have hitching a practicle way of getting around.
yesterday my gf and I were trying to get to rossland from vancouver. we got a friend to give us a ride to chilliwack so we didn't have to start hitching in the city, and eventually we got a ride out to hope. and that's as far as we got. we had old people shaking their heads at us and everyone else just straight up ignoring us. i mean fuck - i thought we lived in a friendly country with friendly people and here I am having old people trying to make me feel bad for not having a car?
damn murderers, ruin it for everybody.

my mom would always pick up an instructor or two on the way up the mountain.

I got a ride in a Porsche Cayenne from Whistler village to the campground 3.5km away, it was sweet though. I also got a ride with some chinese man that was listening to chinese music in a really old car.
But hitchiking in Canada is actually an option, where in Europe nobody would dare doing it, because you'd probably get raped or taken away right away

yeah i dunno i have never really thought about picking up hitchhikers just from the stories i have always been told. Either that or the car is full. But i think im starting to come around just because usually when im in Whistler or Tremblant hitch hiking is a lot easier, and its fucking annoying when people dont pick u up, especially when its such a short distance!

I'll never drive by one of you poor bastards in Horseshoe Bay again. Just promise me no awkward conversation. If the conversation stalls just hurl yourself out of the car.
