what skis have a shorter or longer lenth then they are sapposed to be?? like i have some old head that are sapposed to be 170 but there 167. so what line of skis do u know that is like that and is it the same for this years model?
the tip and the tail (on some skis) are both tipped up, not in contact with the snow when the ski is just sitting on the ground. so the edge that is "active" doesnt include a percentage of the tip/tail
but then again, if you make a flat ski, no tail or tips tipped up, then you have, say, a 180cm ski. when you tip up the tail and nose, you make a shorter ski.
but either way, with tipped up noses/tails, the edge is shorter and so is the length
Aren't all companies measurements pretty standard, if it says 180cm then thats what it is? Except for K2 i think, a 179 is actually like a 181 0r 182, I think this is right, anyone else?
