Honestly if your a good skier you can go anywhere wid any ski just about...the recomended use is just where it performs best...but the stl sill not perform as well as a stiffer ski outta the park thats just a given but if you can ski well itl be fine man...thats what I bought yesterday

personally, i think it's a little too soft to be versatile all-mountain. i would go for the msp if you want to stick with 4frnt.

I really disliked my stl's out of the park, borderline scary in steeper stuff, but for a ski mounted just behind center with a buttery nose, that's what you get.

i had the 183 stl's last year...they were dope as shit in park and still super fun on groomers and in some backcountry as long as the snow wasn't TOO deep. they're fine if you can handle and control a softer ski

I have the 165 TM and the 167 STL. The STL is an awesome parks ski, but totally sucks in all but the best conditions for all mtn. The TM's, while a little soft, are still a better ski for all mtn.

No they are a totally different ski.
All the 4frnts are beefed up and made in the option snowboard factory....they will be bombproof like the new armadas ya know.

As all mountain i mea especially groomed or hard pack, not powder at all...i got seth vicious for powder days

ooooo see you should've mentioned the fact you weren't gonna be riding powder guy!! they're SO fun on groomers and hardpack man, they got a little bit sketchy like straightlining dub-blacks last year but this year they're stiffer so there goes that problem!!

i would strongly suggest not getting them for all mountain. If you're bigger, they'll collapse if you try to power through turns on you tips. That was my experience.

Ok, so tomorrow i'll close my eyes and get them....to tell the truth i'm not completely convinced about them, maybe ar5 would be better for what i need but i wanna try something softer this year and considering i'm a good skier and don't wight too much they would work ok....i hope

soooo fun for all mountain... they turn better than any ski ive ever rode, kill it switch... as long as your not skiing them in heavy deep snow.. they will be perfect. they are fine in light powder, just the real heavy stuff sucks.

you must not ski steep lines, My impression of the stl was a floppy cheap construction piece of crap built for those who are upset when the park is closed on a pow day cause they can't ski the rest of the mountain.

yeah i cant decide where to mount mine, i have a powder ski so that doesnt matter, and ill be using these like 90% for park, and i really dont care how they do on groomers, ive been thinking true center but i dont know, i just want to know what is the best for park, not other stuff.

bdskier^^^^are you retarded?? i rode my stl's on double blacks straightlining to the park...to be specific...lake louise has some, sunshine village has some, fernie has some...i rode steep shit on those skis when i felt like it...they got sketchy when you got cookin but if you know what you're doing aka have a strong enough body to control your skis you're fine...

^thanks, i'm glad somebody knows what it means to load your tips in a turn, the stl cannot handle powerful skiing. Maybe it's preferance, but that ski did not perform for me, is it possible to ski it all mountain, of course, and you could do so reasonably well, but there are much better skis out there for anyone who skis less than 90% park.

of course they're not the best ski for all mountain skiing, i mean considering they're a PARK SPECIFIC ski that would make sense! but i believe the question was: can and will the stl perform resonably well outside of the park on groomers and hardpack...answer is yes, and to contradict your statement...you can preload the tips a fair bit...i am 6'2" and about 180lbs+ and could get some gnarly high speed turns in on some steep shit...don't tell me what the ski can and can't do...i know all too well what it is capable of. if anything about those skis sucks its the edges and bases...waaaaaay too weak

Finally i got my stl 177...
it's quite soft indeed but this week-end i'll try them so i i'll have a feedback for next week.

So finally i tested the skis.
The are not bad at all for all mountain use! they hold great edge also on slopes (it was quite icy indeed).
In park they are great and they flex the best (a very "round" flex)
I'm very glad of my choice.
