The graphics on the msps this year are kinda lame though...and domt give me bullshit about graphics dont matter cause they do play a role in your decision.
Does anyone know the history of 4frnt or where I could find such information...I was just wondering how they got started...who makes thier skis for them...where they are made...how long they have been around...you know things that would atest to them being a legitimate company rather than just a bunch of ski bums who hire some engineers to design a ski and then they contract it out to some factory owned by a major player in the business....thanks
I have heard they are made at the Option snowboard factory, but I don't know for a fact if that's true. They were started by Matt Sterbenz 3 years ago I think when he got sick of his sponsor (Fischer) not paying enough attention to freestyle. The MSP was there only ski to start, then last year they signed on Steel, and added the STL, and this year they added Vinnie and the VCT. I believe that getting a pro-model also makes you a part ower in the company, so that is pretty cool.
They have an old machine from kneissl, one of the few that makes ptex sidewall skis, harder sintered polyethylene than your bases, which makes for very durable skis. Made in Canada, but the company is based in CA, and the skis rock
So they are made with this machine that 4frnt owns at the Option snow board factory? Anyone know thier annual revenues or how many pairs of skis they make each year?
I have a quick question for those that have skied the MSPs...what is up with the tiny tail and lack of a side cut? Does the skinny tail(compared to other skis with its waist and tip measurements) help keep it from washing out and give it more edge grip on hard pack? Does the 25m turn radias really keep it more stable at ultra high speeds like they suggest?
