what do you guys think.. should love be a word to describe half year relation ships in high school or should you reserve it for a time when you actually are in love? my friend has had two girlfriends in a year and has "been in love" with both of them. am i really the only one who thinks he is using the word to easily
i hate how its so overused, kids ask a girl out and then instantly in thier info you see "i love you _____" its so dumb. i think you need to wait to say it, until you really mean it.
but is a highschool relationship going to mean as much to you as the woman you marry? its like in math when you say y=5 and x=5, they equal eachother. by using the same word, he is saying that a girl he has been with just over a month means as much to him as his wife will.
absolutely right the strength of the feeling isnt decided by how old you are. What pisses me off is retarded kids in like grade 9 who have been going out with someone for like 1 month and are like omg i love so and so, like this girl in my peer leading class, she had to make a slide show about her life and she dedicated a slide to how much she loves her boyfriend of 2 months.
I think I was in love once ... I don't remember her name. We met in a Wal-Mart bathroom, she was Brazilian ... or asian or somethign like that. We made out for hours then parted ways never to see each other again.
JUST. just because you know how something works or what makes it up doesn't limit it to its origin. genetic fallacy. a painting isn't JUST paint on a piece of paper. music isn't JUST vibrations in the air. likewise, love isn't JUST a chemical reaction. there is obviously a LOT more to it than that.
theres a difference, cause he probably wasnt actually love. i think to be in love you are older and mature and you have been with someone for a while and you would basically die for this person. theres puppy love, which is pretty much all highschool relationships that go wrong.
L is for the way you look at me O is for the only one i see V is very very extraordinary E is even morehan anyone that you adore can
Love is all that I can give to you
Love is more than just a game for two
Two in love can make it
Take my heart and please don't break it
Love was made for me and you

i think love is different to everyone ... he may be over using it cuz he just doesnt no what it is to him ... or he could actually love them - its like a connection between two people for me but whatever floats ur boat i think ... ski
In highschool and other times, people mistake love for infatuation. Infatuation would be just strong short lived emotions towards someone. Love is more unconditional and deep. Thats not to say you can't love someone after a month in highschool, love is just a deep feeling of caring for someone. The term is so undefined its solely up to that person to define it for themselves. So for you to criticize that someone is stupid for saying they're in love, is simply ignorant towards their feelings.
Love is by definition an affectionnate emotion caracterized by an intense sense of attachement to someone. Love is used also to describe the passion towards an activity.
Maybe we shoud invent a word that is more intensive that the word love.
Love is wanting to ski even though U been kicked out of the local resort and been busted by cops a dozen times and paying fines for damage to rails! Just keep on skiing no matter what dont give up!
The meaning of love can not be debated or deliberated in any sense. Trying to justify an abstract emotion is completly futile, like trying to understand why sketchline still posts on this site.
yea, but one thing for sure. it pisses me off when fucking little like 14-15-16 say they are in love after like 1 relationship. it drives me up the wall.
Love is a waste of time. Well, sometimes. For me, ever since March I had been falling for this girl. She was amazing. And then she broke my heart. We got back together a few weeks later, and it went great. Then, right before she left for college, she told me she kissed some guy I said she could hang out with, that I didnt care as long as nothing happened. BAM! Heartbreak number 2. I give her another chance, because I love her. Then, when she's at college, and I'm on my way to moving there. Not more than a month and a half apart, things get distant. She stops calling. She stops saying I love you. There's no time for the old "Love of her life." Heartbreak number three. Love is a waste, love is for fools, but love is also the greatest feeling/emotion ever. That's why us guys go to such great lengths for those special girls, even when we might not be as special to them. Love is overrated. I'm sick of being hurt.
This just in: love has nothing to do with age. It DOES have something to do with maturity. Sure you can be in love at 16, 17. The thing is, a person needs to have the maturity to know the difference between infatuation and love. Love is when you can see yourself spending your life with someone and their happiness comes before your own. It's not always easy to tell the difference, and in my opinion love comes once, maybe twice in a lifetime, so it's a very different set up. I do think the word "love" is tossed around too easily, but not just by teenagers or whatever.
I've never told a girl that i love her. I probably should have once...yeah I should have, but I never have. I just want it to mean something when I say it.
you can love someone, but not "be in love with them". Honestly you know when someone is in love...or when you are because its something different from other time you might have been with a girl. Love also isnt sex...if your ditching your girl after that you arnt in love...
im in love! its defanitely possible...it has nothing to do with your age, and everything to do with you being mature enough to think realistically about your feelings
im not saying his age is a problem. well i might have, but thats not was i was getting at. im just saying that a month before he started dating his current girlfriend, he "loved" someone else.
what is love? baby dont hurt me, dont hurt me, nooooo
