alright my friend is goign this comming up weekend to get a camcorder...so we just need some advice something that will get the job done...thats not expensive it'll come from bestbuy so yea any pointers are greatly appreciated
yeah yeah yeah i know...but alright see this is like for free and his mom is buying it and we arent like wanting to make a pro video or anything we just wanna have fun so thats why we dont need anything way over bored...so does taht camera have usb you know errr not?
almost any consumer or professional digital camera made within the last 5 years has firewire for video transfer to your computer or pro-tape deck. equally as many have USB as well. USB can be used for video transfer, but is mainly used for still frame transfer. no matter which one you decide to get and for whatever price, you'll almost be guaranteed to have a way to transfer off both types of media.
as for which camcorder to get... do a little research on different models yourself. don't rely on NS forums to give you all your answers. i would tell you to get one model because it's the best i've ever used, and someone else may have had a bad experience with that model and prefers another instead. that's not a way to shop.. even if it's "free". there are a zillion different resources online for you to learn about them yourself. take your time, look at features, and pick one that's going to do exactly what you want.
"There is no difference in the picture and sound quality between MiniDV and Digital8 – much more depends on the optics, CCD and electronic components of the particular camcorder."
exactly. you said in your earlier post "Digital 8 produces the same image quality as Mini DV".. which is wrong. although both formats are able to record about the same image quality, a Digital8 camera will never produce the same image and sound quality as a MiniDV camera, so you'll never get the same results. it's the optics of the camera.. and MiniDV's are produced with higher quality.
well no, don't expect to get the cheapest mini dv camera and expect it to compare to a more expensive one. might as well save some money and get a digital 8.
minidv cameras are a lot smaller too since they only have to use a small minidv tape and not a large hi-8 tape. smaller is always nicer out on the mountain.
