Please discuss your favorite boot and why. My feet have finally dtopped growing and im sure im not the only person wanting to know about boots from other people first hand experience.
I just got rossignol soft boots for like 150 and they are the most comfortable things I've ever worn. They seriosly feel like sneakers. I'd look into those, but if you're loaded get dalbello kryptons or the new tanner boot
I wrote this response to another thread last night:
i just bought a pair of Kryptons. They are so sick. Before I get going note that I bought the Krypton Pro which is stiffer and has a more dense shell than the cross, I weigh 190 so they don't feel that stiff to me at all. The first thing you notice is that once you get your foot in the boot grabs it like a firm handshake, it really felt as though i was one with the boot. They are so amazingly comfortable if you have the right foot type. I wear a size thirteen shoe, but my foot is relatively narrow for its length, so I've had a lot of trouble in the past finding a boot that is long enough in the toe, and that grabs my foot. My toe doesn't hit the end at all, but it gets held back in place by the lycra (elastic material) that the liner is made of. So if you have a narrow foot, the Krypton is ideal. This is the first boot I have ever tried on that had zero hot spots the whole time I wore it in the store. The flex is amazingly smooth and consistent, and unlike other boots, the ankle area doesn't seem to cave in on your foot when you flex em. They seem pretty light to me but Im not really concerned with weight. So all in all, having never skied them before, I recommend that you go to the Dalbello site, find a dealer, and get these boots on your feet. They aren't even that expensive. The Pros cost me 499 and the Crosses would have been 399, if you know much about good boots this really isn't a huge deal considering the fact that your boots are your single most vital piece of equipment. Good luck!
as ive said numerous times, the favorite part of my set up is my salomon soft boots. they are the black and yellow verse boots. they are the softest boots ive ever worn, seen, or touched. they are like 2-3 years old or something. i bought them new for 100 at a ski swap of last years gear. they are so soft my feet never hurt.
I have Head Edge 10.0s. Got them for $175 CDN brand new. After trying out like 30 different pairs of boots from 4 or 5 different manufacturers, the Edge 10s fit me the best.
If you find a pair that fit you nicely, spend at least 30 minutes with them on your feet before making a final decision. Get a certified bootfitter's help too, cause any plain monkey in a sport shop won't really know about properly fitting boots.
l'm sorry but i think it's funny that no-1 talked about krytons last season and now with tanner and tj rockin 'em everyone is loving them... i wanna know more about the head mojo!
i had 03/04 salomon pro model boots. they were great, flex was perfect for me and my riding. buttttt the liners packed out after a year and started to really hurt my feet due to the movement my toes were expeirencing when i landed. i then purchased the 04/05 salomon 1080 boots. they were nice because they were a substancial amount lighter but the flex sucked.
this one time, i did a backflip on a powder jump at berthoud and i landed a little forward, the boot oveflexed and i pulled something in my calf. it hurt really bad and i couldn't ski the rest of the day. in conclusion, i do not recommend the 1080 boots for anything other then begining skiing.
Dude what is the shape of your foot? That is really all that matters when considering a new boot. I'm aboot fitter by profession take a pic of your foot if you can on a measuring device and post it I'll tell you what to check out.
