the only good programs ive ever heard of are adobe premiere and final cut, and they are both very similiar, but final cut is definetly the best. I have adobe on my home pc and its decent

yeah, Premier is decent... the interface isn't as good, but the quality is similar.

bingo.
FCP, Adobe Premiere, and Avid are teh only 3 that are really used in the film industry, but Avid is something that isn't really made to be used on a desktop computer. Yes, they do have versions that are, but they don't pack quite the punch that premiere and FCP do (from what I've seen at least).
