This web site is directly associated with Pleahouse so we will never have an honest opinion about their films. Even if they make the worst film of the year we wouldn’t know by going to this site. I enjoyed it the most out of all the ones I saw at the Freshtival. I thought it was different and broke the mold of the others. I thought it was amazing and am definitly heading out to buy it. It had totally different shots. It was captivating.

The soundtrack is what holds it back i think. The whole time it feels like it's building to something but it just never gets there. All of the shots are great. I don't know if they switched editors or something but it just doesn't feel like other plehouse films. Exact science and redtape are soo different from this movie. It feels less cinematic than them. The different format also set me off somewhat. I was so excited to see this movie, I was sure it was going to be my favorite movie of the year, maybee my hopes were just too high. Everything is there for it to be a good movie it just doesn't do it for me and I don't know why.

It's hard to find a lot of constructive criticism in this thread. It's there mixed in with "sux" and "you're a fag". Typical NS.com.
While I haven't seen the movie yet, I will purchase it to see the direction in which they take editing. Change is sometimes good, whether or not people are ready for it.
Art is art, whether it puts you to sleep or you appreciate it.
Also, the english language is an art form in itself. I think I'd value the opinion of someone who uses it properly over those who lack command of it.
Then again, these are just a few of my thoughts. Take them as you will.

I can understand if you are from Canada why you would like this movie. All in all looked like a High School video project to me. Going to a junk yard and filming skiing there? Really, they might as well have filmed a segment at a sledding hill, thats where S@*t goes down.

I'm the geek and yet you're getting heated at a complete random person replying to a comment on a public forum. I'm not angry because you've voiced your opinion about Whiteshine or concerning me, I was just pointing out that if one were to offer criticism of a subject, they'd provide examples. So what was wrong with the movie besides an artistic approach to editing? What would you do to make it better?
Really, I haven't seen the movie, however, I've ordered it. You can rip into me for making posts without seeing the movie if you want to. I might even agree with you when I get the movie that it was "boring". However, I'd at least offer reasons rather than vague explicitness.
That being said, I'm a fan of movies with "kids ripping with fucking rad music", I just wouldn't put it that way.

There's a little part of me that wants to engage you in your satirical bullshit with your same repetitive and unfounded language and thought, but then, that really wouldn't be a good use of my quality time. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that I have more knowledge of and experience with the ski industry than you and I come on this site out to find out what the ski community has to say. I use it in the manner for which it was designed, rather than a soap box for 12 year olds to rant about their dissatisfaction for ski movies without providing anything remotely resembling a sound basis. I don't mean to generalize but seeing how this site has degraded to the point where it produces such scenarios, my assumptions are probably right. Even if I'm wrong and you aren't part of the aforementioned scenario, your argument is still full of holes and should be disregarded.
Seriously, if you expect to post in the forums in such a manner that provokes replies that you don't agree with or in which you won't back up, then don't post at all.
I'll repeat myself and say that these are my thoughts and you can take them anyway you'd like.

To set things straight, I'm not involved with Plehouse at all. But you're assumption is fine, I assumed that you're a ranting twelve year old. It's all good.
But this has gone on long enough. I'm in the middle of what I dislike the most about this site, an online tirade that's becoming a waste of time and isn't constructive at all. If you want to continue this, feel free to message me. Other than that, I don't feel the need to post on this subject again.

I personally think its one of the best movies to date, the editing, music, and shots were all just really good and i thought it had a real nice flow and feel, but i can see how people with different tastes may not like it because of how different it is, but in my opinion its def worth buying

I think the mvoie is great, but it's short, Alot of the b footy could have easily gone into the movie, and the format...not so conventional, instead of individual segments, you have places (except gagnier and houle), but the problem is, after the movie, I feel like I just watched a gagnier and houle film. they both have siiiiiiick parts, houle so steeze on his switch cork 7's and gagnier is...well he's gagnier. Tweaks and rails galore.

I watched Session 1242 today after watching Whiteshine. 1242 had better skiing, but was less fun to watch.
My only problem with Whiteshine is that it is too short.

I've heard a lot of talk around him since all the way back in 04. Last year everyone was hyping him for an Orage masters spot. To me that disqualifies one from rookiedom. Rookies are generally supposed to be people who come out of nowhere, not guys with good comp results and reputation for years prior. But that would just be my take on it.
But then I wouldn't call Sammy or Zach rookies either.
