coz first: idon't like pipe, second: freestyle is already in olympics with moguls.
and look how gay is the snowboard in olympics ...
last but not least, fresstyle skiing doesn't need it. not in the spirit

What about the people who spend almost all of their freetime training for pipe? What if some people (heaven forbid) would actually like to be recognized for a sport they happen to be incredibably proficient at? What if some of these athletes would actually like to reach a wider audience and open more people's eyes to what can be accomplished on skis? If snowboarders are making mad coin at snowboarding halfpipe, why shouldn't skiers be getting a piece of that pie?

sure ... but even if i hate snowboard, terje haakonsen refused to go to the olympics ... we ahve our olympics, they are called the x games.
then about people working for it ... yes, but like in all sports, and as far as i know, football, rugby, mechanical sports ... are not olympic and live quite good with it. BMX will maybe become an olympic sport, that's stupid ... the 1000 meters running must stay olympic coz it's the only reason for it to live (like almost all athletism), "xtrem sports" do not need it ...

It would rock to have pipe in the Olympics because the Olympics is the greatest sporting event in the world.

Yah, representing your country on world-wide tv really sucks. Not to mention how much your sponsors would pay you for winning an olympic event.....that really sucks. Oh, not to mention the possibilities of mainstream sponsorships and the most important....exposing people that don't know that this part of skiing exists. Yah, that sucks.
I'm sure all Ross Powers was really pissed about shit like that when he won his gold medal in 02.

you're weak if you let it get to you. its your own decision to ski the way you want to.

if tanner has anything to do with it there will be like a blaze o meter at the gate of the pipe, and if you havnt smoked a blunt in the last 20 miuntes you wont be able to ski.

i just don' t feel like seeing freestyle in olympics. i must admit one thing: i decided to become a freestyl eskier the day of february 1992 when i saw Grospiron winning in Albertville ... but it was in the spirit ...
coz pipe, then extreme? yes, seth morrison in the same team as michelle kwan (is she still skating) would be great ... no, it wouldn't.
my main argument is taht we don't need it. we have x games, us open, ... and honestly, we will loose a lot of uor so pleasant "underground" image ...
what's "extreme" in the olympics? out of downhill, i don't see ... curling?

its inevitable that "Freeskiing" will become "trendy" just like snowboarding. But I dont really care about that. I dont ski because its "underground", I ski because it is fun, and pretty much beats everything else in life (even sex).

no one will pass the drug test so its a moot point to ponder if it will be in the olympics

screw the olympics. i picture our sport to be part of a similar genre as skateboarding, surfing, or snowboarding. not mainstream - underground. it's all about being sneaky.

whoa buddy, that better be a whole lot of internet sarcasm there because those sports are anything BUT underground. Underground is like L.A. Symphony, RJD2, or Aesop Rock. Those three sports are like Tony Hawk, Shaun White, and Kelly Slater...all three have had videogames named after them.

i think freesking will become more popular as time goes on, but i dont think it will ever become "trendy", like snowboarding, because according to most of the people in my school, skiing is "GAY", and im often asked, "why do yo ski? Skiings for queers."

ok sorry underground is a shitty word to use. how about non-mainstream in the eyes of the general public as compared to olympic sports. i don't really know wtf i'm saying so i'll just stop saying.

Pipe is sick.

Snowboard halfpipe in the Olympics is sick.

I think it is a definite must in Olympics for men, but women's freeskiing pipe shouldn't because there aren't enough girls to create a good competition.. It's not big enough for girls yet..Not enough of a ski scene. it's the truth.. think of how many girls are boosting major hits out of the pipe and would compete on an international level.. less than 20 I would guess.. sure that's enough to hold a competition but this is the Olympics..

the olympics will be a very big upset even if it does happen because a LOT of the athletes in the pros that would be on national teams would say FUCK that cuz they would have to quit smokin chron which wouldn't happen. and like many say, those guys would way rather hit up the xgames and get gold n shit there than sit side-by-side with fucking racers. it would be cool to see how it turned out but i have high doubts in the success of the thing as a whole.

Jon Olsson, Henke Winstedt and a whole bunch of other scandinavians.
Fron what Jon says, Tanner is getting out of it BECAUSE OF the olympics.
My personal opinion is:
The year the olympics were in Salt Lake, more teenage people in the US watched x-games instead... Why not make x-games the new olympics?? The olymics is getting WAAY too big anyway... The goverment in Sweden just turned down a city for wanting to apply for the olympics because it is too expencive for our country.

the olympics is the biggest and most repected sporting event in the world. having skiing pipe in hte olympics would do wonders for the sport.

personally, yeah, i think it would be selling out. look at what happened to freestyle...i dont know, i dont think it would be good for the sport. maybe it would be good for the sponsors bank accout...but thats about it.

no it's not, but it's definitely not mainstream enough to be in the olympics. i mean if you talk to 20 random people, probably 1 or 2 will know that skiers do what we do. most people are like wtf when any skier bombs something fakie - including people that ski all the time. i like this aspect of our sport, the guy that said none of the pipe skiers would want to be next to the racers and shit was right on.

did pipe snowboarding severly damage the sport like some people here are afraid it will damage skiing? no. just so long as it doesn't turn into "who can throw the most 1080s in one pipe run", it would be cool. oh, and the commentating had better be good... we know it wouldn't be, though.

I think having snowboarding in the Olympics made the sport that much better and bigger gave it tons of coverage and stuff. Even though we all hate how FIS and olympic stuff is judged. I think skiing would get the same coverage and exposure as snowboarding did in the 2002 games.
But you guys are going to think my post sucks so in advance here is a fuck you!!!!
