Replying to The Right to Die?
So in English class we are discussing the topic of Euthanasia, which by definition means: The act or practice of ending the life of an individual suffering from a terminal illness or an incurable condition, as by lethal injection or the suspension of extraordinary medical treatment. That is quite a broad topic I know, but the other question I'm asking is what is your postition ones own right to die. Should assisted suicide be an issue if the individual suffering from such incurable diseases such ALS (Lou Garichs Disease) or MLS requests assistance in eding thier life because they would not be able to set up the equipment in order to do it. These people will generally hire Doctors who envelope themselves in this contraversial practice who usually prefer to remain anymous mainly because they can be persecuited for thier actions. One of the most contraversial examples involved a Doctor who was dubbed, "Doctor Death" because he assisted in over 150 assisted suicide cases. However, none of these cases involved him playing a role in active euthanasia, he would only set up the apparatus used to end the persons life he never did it for them, except for the last case, where he put the needle in a women's arm who requested his help. He video taped this and sent it in to 60 minutes, he is still serving jail time for this. My question is what are your thoughts on this? (that is to say if any of you even read this whole post).
