Aight guys, just want an idea cleared up here... I know for a fact that tons of people on here can rip some hardcore ass with the freestyle. But how many people can actaully ski... as in Glen Plake? Personally, i'm not that good at freestyle (basic flips and 720's)... but anything outside the park is game for me. I never really jam in the park. How 'bout you guys?
I like skiing in the park, and out, depends on the day and the mood i'm in i guess, my mountain is small an shitty so usually it is the park for me but not all day.
Skiing vs. jumping????????? can you have one without the other?? i've never sat in a park all day, i just do a few fly by's throughout the day...but i'd say for jumping i go at least twice as big out of the park! if some of you left the park once in a while you could find "the real jumps"
same here, but some of the runs are fun to cruise around with some buddies. i mainly ski park when i have time, but skiing some groomers is always fun too.
my perfect day is skiing powder. I would much rather ski some dope lines with kickers and cliffs then park. But i still love skiin park alot soooo i dunno but i believe i can rip outside of park...
depends. im usually in the park, but i grew up skiing out. i love bombing cruisers and just buttering around on natural shit and carving switch. if the snow falls i dont even think about the park.
i actually ski. and im damn good at it too. park is another story. i like all mountain- hunt for those world cup rollers and get some good distance while freaking out the gappers.
every thing you do on skis is skiing. IF you RIP at big Mountain but cant ski park, you suck! if you RIP at park and can't ski powder or big mountain, you suck! if go ski powder all morning and hit up gnarly lines and then when it gets tracked you go throw some switch cork 5 truckdrivers followed by an urban rail later that night, then your good
I love skiing in and out of the park... I'm good at ripping up the icy steeps but when it comes to park, I've still got to develope some more in there so really I'm more towards outside the park but going to train inside this year.
the park is fun in the spring time but nothing is better then standing ontop of a peak, looking down about to drop, well maybe boobies are better but not by much.
i ride park pretty much all the time, but before anyone says shit, its because i live in ohio and there really is no point in skiing outside the park. however, when i go on vacation, i usually don't even go to resorts, i spend most of my time hiking for my turns.
I have a lot more fun having to think about lines on the mountain than looking at the obvious ones in the park. An actual hill allows you to be creative and throw your tricks off of a 30 foot cliff into powder instead of going off a perfect 40 foot table where you know exactly what it's going to be like. I just don't think any terrain park can compare even to mediocre big mountain terrain.
seriously where do u guys ski that get 40 foot cliffs with amazing lines all dat everyday, ive never been to a resort like that before, so tell me where ur hitting this stuff, and my park is at the bottom of my hill, right before where i go to get on the lift, so i ski bumps or groomers down to the park every run usually, unless there is pow
I like to ski the mountain more, and just hit some jumps that are natural or built on the way down. Not a park, just like booters or built up natural lips. As long as you learn to ski the mountain before you ski park, its cool... otherwise you will be a par rat forever.
I live at alpine meadows and ski there nearly every day...last season had over 50 SICK!! "epic" pow days and I know atleast two-doze safe easy 30-40 footers withing easy skiing range from the lifts..there is even a "safe" 90+footer that is way huckable after big dump - marhankas rock anyone...huck and chuck at alpine
here in alaska, charging hard and freeriding is the way to go. we have like 2 or 3 good man made tables and a shitty ass park. but we have snow and steeps that are orgasmic. and thats why i freeride.
2. if there is no pow, go skiing groomers and park
i find it easier to reach 75 mph while carving on my ar5s than throwing down a 540. but i know that some park rats never get faster than maybe 50 mph. at least the ones i know. i am happy that i actually can ski, however i suck in the park.
