how many of you kids hike the mountains. what i mean is shred the back country, do any of you kids even know how to use a tranciever, or are you all just park rats?
I actually do... just not this year work, beacon gone, out of town all the time and not happy about having a small almost non-existent season...so sad, but i can handle my self in the ol bc.
but uh yeah, I plan to shred a reasonable amount of backcountry this season, i'm buying some AT bindings and doing a few courses and junk at my homemountain and such.
I like to go OB on huge storm days with lots of wind!! that way the snow fills in and causes a tremendous amount of loading....
nothing better than making that first turn and hrearing WHOOMP!!! as a three foot fracture line rips across the run...
Beacons...what are those, only pssys who are affraid of slides wear em..kind of like lifejackets....real men just ski it and not worry about slides or rescues or other peoples saftey...
hmmmm.....
or did you just start this thread to be an antogonistic prick???
Hiking BC is the way to go. Make sure u learn how to use a transceiver and get educated about avalanceche safety.. respect the mountains and they will respect you

some of the most educated backcountry mountaineers have been taken away from us because of the unpredictability.... be careful theres no 100%'s in the backcountry.
I don't do a lot of backcountry until the spring when they open up beartooth pass. However, I'm gonna change that this year if the snow permits and use my tranciever somewhere besides the ridge at Bridger.
im not trying to rag on anyone guys, stop having such a huge stick up your ass. i asked cause this is a much more newschool/park based website and i know alot of kids that i ski with in tahoe dont even know what snow faceting (spell?) is. it was just a question, im sorry if you were offended
I knew you're were going to say that haha. Hike the park.
Anyways, I'll hike some glades and ridges off the mountain, but here in the east, hiking consists of moving around to higher points of glades, tucks, or the chin on stowe.
