North Face Outerwear (Freedom Pant)

Just wanted some opinions about northface outerwear specifically regarding waterproofing. From what I can see most of their stuff has what they call "hyvent technology", waterproofing / breathability. I've know a guy that will sell me a pair of brand new Freedom pants for $75 and just wanted to know if their worth picking up.

I think you can get them for like $69 on rei, using the 20% off code.

i checked rei and the pants are $129. So even if there is a 20% off code, they'd still be like $100.

i have the various guide jacket, with hyvent, It's super waterproof, solid jacket. I love there stuff, I could really go for a blue universal infusion jacket, too bad they're 400 bucks.
