Skied the Xwave 8 last year but I tried Tecnica Magnesium on and it is SOOO comfy...any thoughts. I typically get some shin splints/bang during the season. I ski park/big mntn/pow ...everything.

You can get Salomon Pro Models from last season for around 400 dollars.
Great boot.

the x-wave 8 is the teneighty boot with no shock absorber, the magnesium is the step down from technica's mass market race boot and has a minimum flex index of 9, which is to stiff for park, for the fires or flames, and fuck salomon

and it also had much better liners and a slightly stiffer flex. i wear the x-wave 8's and have to say that i love them. to tell you the truth though, if i could afford the technica diablos i would get em. i got my x-waves for $225 though. can't beat that.

My Diablo Magnesiums are going to be DOOOOOOOOOOOPE...
Xwave 8s are good boots. If you've got the cash though, the 10 fits better and the ones I've got in the shop I work at all have rubber bootboards just like the 1080 boot.
As for Tecnica, it is "possible" to find a rubber bootboard for the Magnesiums and Fires, provided you know who to ask and where to look.
If you're lazy and like a slightly tighter fit than the 1080, get the Diablo Burn..sick boot, cheaper than the fires or mags.
