What's everybody doing for bindings?

i'm probably not getting new skis this year since i think i'm going with a new jacket and pants instead, but if i did i know i'd get invaders, but what about bindings this year?
i don't know how the new looks will be without the pivot, and i've had problems with salomons in the past. would it just be a better idea to try and find some old p12s? the 4frnt (read: vists) sound like the best out there, but are just too stupid expensive.
do the new scratch's have the new tailpiece too or are they keeping the pivot? i'm just wondering because i have p10s on my STLs and never had a single problem with them.

I love salomon bindings, I think hte reason why 90% of people that have problems with them is because they dont know how to adjust them properly. PLus they are way light.

I'd go with the looks or rossignols, they will NEVER release when you're skiing and they'll outlast any pair of salomons you can find.

Why learn to adjust your bindings every day if you dont have to mess with them at all?

its not a matter of adjusting your bindings everyday, its a matter of adjusting them correctly and you wont have to adjust them every day.

I disagree, after a while solly's will need to be adjusted all the time.
The s920's are solid but old and heavy. You could say the same about the looks but at least they are still being sold.

yea salomons require too much tinkering.
its almsot as easy to find older pivots as the new design. i have both types, and never had a problem with pivots. i highly recommend those.

depends on the salomons. Some require lots of attention (s912, s914, etc) and some dont (s916). They are designed differently and the s916 is soo much better.
This season my bindings will be s916, P18, scratch 100, and Fritschi Freeriders. There is nothing out there better than a P18 or s916 (if you weight enough to use them)

im just using my s810s from last year i never had a problem with them yet.and i put blue locktight on all the bolts so its all good until i prerelease then i just put more licktight on

get a pair of the 04-05 rossi axial bindings (the ones with the turntable heel), they look a LOT better than the new ones and are cheaper.

how much do the 916s weigh, i want a lighter binding than the looks. the heel piece weighs like 4 pounds. is there a light version of the look bindings. maybe the new px or a Ti version?

first of all...the way bindings LOOK shouldn't matter at all.
s916 is fairly heavy, I believe around 6.5 pounds. Normal looks are around 4.5 I believe. Race stock looks are around 5.5 pounds. Funny enough, the Line bindings weight almost a pound more than all of these, but.....suck. sorry for you kids who keeping trying to defend them....
I don't care about binding weight really. I would rather have a heavier binding that gives me more control of my ski. If you are considering the s916 then weight shouldn't be an issue. you should be able to handle the extra pound or two. it is as simple as that.

i had the s912's last year and i didnt have any problems at all. so this year its between the s912ti's or some of the new rossi's, depending on which is lighter.

the new look/rossi have a huge mounting zone, the heel piece will probably be very much like the salomon, giving that locked in feel. That said, they don't have the pivot toe piece of salomon. I got 914s this year, i have p12s and 912ti's on my other skis.

the mountaing length of the new look/rossi is only about 1/2" longer than the old, so not much different. im certainly looking forward to riding the new type

yeah so am i. The new look/rossi's look like much better bindings. I like the idea of more forward pressure and its a much nicer binding and should make bindings on park skis on park skis last longer.

WTF are you talking about? The s920 lab was added last season, and the regular s920 comp was updated a few years back. Both are listed on the current race form.

hey powa - I can get a good deal on these and I was wondering what they are like. I have skied the Pivots and it is between these and the new PX's...how are they different? Thanks alot.

What are you talkin about dog...sell like 5 or 6 of your sets of skis and you could have a pair of bindings for the other 5 or 6 sets you still have.

Are the fks bindings only for racing? Do they release just like the px's? I would be putting them on a pair of gold cronics.

the fks bindings are all metal so they are pretty much bomb proof they have practically no rise so you feel everything ich i like! they have the turntable heel but it is different form the previous years axial! there is no plastic on the entire binding!! but beware they are not adjustable you mount them to your boot and they stay there! but they will last you forever ive never ever heard of a broken pair!

great point to bring up. They are not adjustable as far as boot sole length goes at all.
salomon s916 are adjustable to a boot size each way, but with a Look/rossi racestock there is nothing

marker has a good showing of bindings this year and i've used the marker comp 1400 for a while and they pretty good. They're may be a tad bit heavy but not bad pricing

most pros use this binding. its one of the best on the mkt. its just a bit pricey.

but keep in mind the fks are all metal they last forever you would be safe to say you could easily use them for 5 hard season probobly as long as you want to they are pretty undestructable
