i called a local shop and they said if you want to put different bindings on LINE ski's were the mounting holes are, they have to put some kind of a plate over then mount them. i dont think it's a lifter plate but it will raise them a little. is this true, have you heard this

I have never heard of such a thing, they are probally a bunch of dick trying to get you to spend more money. Last year my friend had 1260's with s 810's on them and since the line mounting holes were there, he just got them to fill it with stuff.

not true at all. i had my pollards from last year (they have the 4-pack mounting shit, same as the invaders) and had them mounted with look px12's...they just have to drill new holes where the bindings go...no biggie, doesn't affect the ski at all. your shop just doesn't wanna do any work

he musta thought you said line bindings to other skis.. instead of other bindings to line skis.
this is my only guess. and the answer is no... you do not need a plate and you don't need to fill the holes.

Ummm.... If you know a lot about skis you would know that shop guy is full of shit. Just mount whatever binding floats your boat. You don't even need to fill the quickmount holes.

aaa, why would you mount invaders anywhere except center? Therefore, the holes would never get in the way.

Even if you did move your mount you wouldn't even come close to the quickmount.
"I know a lot about skis" still laughing at that.

i have owned multiple pairs of lines, with the holes, but i always use look bindings, it works perfectly, you dont need any plate, nor do you even need to fill the premount holes, since they are made of metal.

I think your retarded shop means that to mount line bindings on other companies skis you need the freedom plate.

No, not false. To mount Line bindings on other companies skis you need the Freedom Plate.

did you read his question, he said, they want to put a plate on his line Skis, so they can mount other non line bindings.
I had some mavericks and they had the quick mount, and they just mounted them with the top peice a head of it, and the heal piece behind

When you think about it, its not a bad idea, if it wasn't that big of a lift, and it didn't add too much weight. Go with me on this....
If you had a pair of say p12s, that you mounted onto a plate. So you had one set of bindings, set to your size, on a plate which you can screw into the 4 point quickmount holes on a pair of say, Invaders. Whats to say you couldn't use this binding system you have, to change from your Invaders, to screw into the quickmount holes on a pair of Prophets or Motherships for powder days?
Hard to explain, but it could work pretty well!

let me put it this way...tell your tech at your shop to stop being a lazy bitch and learn how to go beyond the box and mount the bindings on the fucking skis like he would with any OTHER ski...theres no rule or law against mounting non-line bindings on line skis...fuck

Number one you really don't know much about skiing, so talking to some other borderline retarded Minnesotaian about your lack of skiing ability proves nothing. You don't need a plate or to fill in the holes, just mount bindings at center and the 4 pack mounting holes wont get in the way.

word.just get those lil screws that fill up the 4 holes in the center, they cost like 5ccents a piece. DO IT!

^magseven has a very interesting point. i wonder if it could be done?it seems like it could, just with slightly longer screws, to accomodate for the thickness of the plate.
I might go about making one of these. All you'd really have to do would be drill holes in say a 3/8 or 1/4" thick steel plate that were the same diameter as the quckmounts, and then drill more holes for your bindings to mount to the plate, thread the holes, bit of locktite, and presto. i wonder if you'd rip your bindings out of a plate like that?
