consider Fort Lewis College. its similar to both (somewhat). Colorado Mt. college is only 2 years unless you get into spicific programs. Fort Lewis is in Durango (much better then Gunnison, where western is). Also, while it is still a small school, there are about 4k students here and I think that is better then the tiney population at Western. Also, this gives you more options for classes and majors. plus, you can easly transfer to Hawaii and CSU.

I go to colorado mtn college right now, it is a pretty chill and easy school, class wise, and i can basically ski everyday and still go to class. the only bad part is it is a small school and there is like a 12 guy to 1 girl ratio on campus

i was planning on doing 2 years of business at one of those colleges and then transfering to CU to finish up with 2 years of music production

I would say that fort lewis is your best bet out of those for business.

Western State college... though at the base of crested butte... is in the fuck middle of nowhere... a good three hours to get anywhere, very dull town, everyone who goes there says you jsut run out of shit to do

I go to Western and I really like it. It's really all about what you make of it. The skiing is way better than if you go to fort lewis. I always seem to occupy myself and I've been here for 4 years so....

And gunnison is way closer to other places than fort lewis. Durango is "in the fuck middle of nowhere".

well, there is good skiing, but it is a longer drive. if you are 18 or under, a pass to Teluride is $99 (3 hr drive). Wolf Creek (as technical terain a Cresten Beut, but smaller mtn) has 2 college days every month ($22 ticket) and then there is Purgatory, which has some decent terrain and that is a 20 min drive.

Wolf Creek as technical as Crested Butte? Are you serious? Have you ever skiied at CB? Wolf Creek has like 2 very short steep sections and the rest is flat.

ft loser is way shitter than western. If you've ever been to ft lewis you'd know the school is quite a ways from town, where as everything is within walking from western.

so that is why it is shittier?^
I visited both and took a lot of time deciding. town is very easy to drive, hitch, bike, hike or get a bus ride to in about 3 minutes, and in the winter, you can ski down the hill and hitch up if you want. there is also a really small tow rope right here.
besides who cares if western is right in Gunnison? Ft. Lewis may not be right in Durango, but it sure is close. the key words being Gunnison, and Durango. Durango is a chill hippey skier/boarder/mt bikeing town. Gunnison is much smaller, there is less going on, and more hicks.

lifts? not at Wolf Creek. but thats good because it doesnt get tracked up as much. skiing is about quality, not quantity.
and no, i have not been to CB. but wolf creek has a few more then 2 technical runs. alot of hiking though, but again, thats good because you get less tracks through it.

durango has nothing on gunnison except tourists. Gunnison has tons of mointain bike trails, a water park for kayaking, cb is way better than durango mountain...

jarossamb..Come to CB on a powder day and ski high life, the edge, rock and roll glade, dead end chutes, body bag glade, cesspool, little hourglass, phazer, the headwall ,big chute, teocalli bowl, slot, staircase, third bowl, etc.(thats just the beginning...i mentioned not even 1/3 of the goods) and then you will understand what we are talking about. It is such a sweet mountain when there is good snow. Plus the park is going to be off the hook this year....like 15 new jibs.

Yes....it's a real college as opposed to a junior college. I'm not saying that CMC wouldn't be cool. That's for you to decide.
