my friend who is a snowboarder tried a new trick yesterday when brighton opened. He broke his collarbone!! is it worth it to go big this early and screw the rest of your season?

i'd definitly take it easy this early in the season, get back all the stuff from last year that you already know then start building on that. it would suck to bust your knee or something the first day out

i am a good example of this, i went for a mistyflip 540 lui kang 2nd day back and tore a muscle in my knee.. although i was only out 4 days, it hurt like a bitch. i just likt to get balls and try shit, i broke my smith triads that day trying a switch rodeo 540...hahaha

dont go big unless you have enough air to land on your skis, not your knee or head...hahah

where are you jumping off sand dunes at? i know that we have them on the east coast...i can not speak for the west....that sucks that your buddy broke his shit...we have footie of our buddy breaking his collar bone...he wrecked his mtn. bike though...but it was so random that we got it on video...but everyone take it easy...we gotss all winter

yea we have sand dunes all over the east coast but ive never been to the west coast so i wouldnt know but id imagine they did too

Dont go big unless you know you can easily land the trick you are trying.

Example:
I praticed underflips all summer long and stomped it for the first time on ski when I tried it.

Bad example: a boarder friend of mine tried a misty 540 for the first time on the first day and twisted is wrist really bad...

dont huck, throw tricks that have style.. but yes i always go a little to big preseason just because i am hella stoked about snow, but i am yet to get seroiusly hurt. knock on wood....

I mean imagine it was a really shitty jump, you ate shit hucking your meat and BAM no more ACL.

If you're american it costs like 17000 dollars to repair, and will be out for at least 8 months.
