i have PE's and loved them but when i went to the park it was like learning to 3 all over again so i'm goin to get rid of them i'm really intrested in the chronics. how different are they from the other skis?
good topic I am quite interested in this as well. I need a stiff ski but not too too stif with me being 6 foot 200.... chronics not stiff enough for me u think?
if i didnt have tm's (i recommend em, but i know u guys will freak about the edges) id own the chrons or ar5s. maybe the thalls 4u, maybe 2flex 4 the big guy.
^177. 4 the orig guy: the chronic is a much more solid ski than the fujy (a nice ski). compared to the PEs, ull miss em on the pow and the rest of the hill, but the chron should feel better in the park.
if u do bumps or tight trees the chrons will make u very happy, as they are much more suited 2 that terrain than the PE
This years chronics are so ill! especially the wides, i skied them up at Jibij Camp, the are great all around skis, stiffer than some jibtastic skis, but still work amazingly well in the park! Get the wides! they're even better!
there actually isnt that much difference when it comes to overall performance and feel between the chrons and YOUR PEs. THIS years PE might feel a little less quick and snappy than the chrons and even previous PEs, so just take that in2 consideration.
haha dude^wow...the main difference will be the weight of the skis...the newer chrons are super strong skis w/out the weight of p.e.'s ...so are the old ones(strong i mean) should hold up better to. from wat ive seen
ya my friend(montageskier) went to one of our local ski shops to get boots and he was flexing the chronics and said they flex really nice better then last years chronics which to me they sound awsome for anyone in the 130 range of weight who wants a fairly softer ski but not to soft and not to stiff.
like i said earlier, they r both a very similar all mtn ski. i rode both last year and that is y i am sayin ne thing. once again, the chrons are a little snappier(think bumps/glades) and the PE will make u happier in deeper, steeper stuff.
i live on the east coast and get some powder cus i live in CNY yea we get dumped on anyway last year i had tons of fun on my pe's but not in the park would chrons be more responsive and how bout ice we get that alot too
back when i had publics was when i signed up for the site! they are pretty cool skis...i hardly remember riding them, they seemed fine in the powder, i like the chronics alot better, and i skied chrons in the park, and liked them, that would be my pick
