Bend is a great town, I lived there for about 5yrs or so. There is pretty much everthing to do there, lots of outdoors stuff, hiking, fishing, rockclimbing, etc. Thr people are really cool, not to many ego's like in SLC, andrent is fairly cheap. Plus Bachelor is only 20mins and COCC has classes that you can get credits for for just going and riding. So my advise is leave utah, because I've been there and OR is way better!
bend is really fun, there is always something to do. Bachelor is pretty flat and the owners are dicks, but they have a fun park. Backcountry around here is really fun and if you know where you are going you can find some sick stuff. Bend would be the way to go.
cocc has all the night classes you need to get the two year degree ultra quick.
move on to osu in bend and do the same program.
the mountain is fun, especially if you like tons of jibs and powder.
the guy who moved to colorado, you got lucky last year, wait til' you experience an "average" year there= ice, texans, and when the pow comes, it just barely covers up the rocks/ice.
by the way, you can surf in oregon and meet midwesterners in colorado.
