Colleges good for skiing

Im looking into some colleges right now. And i was wondering what you guys thought some good ones to go to with good skiing next to it and with a low tution.

Fort Lewis has Pergatory,telluride, wolf creek(all of which got a shit load of snow this year but are mainly extreme backcountry resorts)...and also Western State is by crested butte, but not a very reputable school

not so much U of Oregon...bachelor is like 3 hours away and hoodoo blows. go with University of Portland. i just ordered an application from them; they have a shuttle to meadows every friday...costs like 85 bucks for a few weekends and includes lift tickets
that in itself is reason enough to go there

meh, UP kind of sucks. It overlooks a shitty part of Portland, is uber religious (if that is your thing.....), the party scene kind of sucks....

Reed and Lewis & Clark are much better schools in the Portland area.

and U of O would suck for skiing.

^yea i just found out today that it was a catholic school. but i talked to the lady and she said you don't have to go to mass, or take theology courses, and it's basically more just sponsored by the catholic church like a lot of other private schools

Oregon may have wonderous summer skiing but in the Winter, this place might as well be flat. Timberline's terrain is nothing to write home about and Meadows is about as good as any, still lacking in the steeps department. Bachelor's your best bet and unless you've got your own SUV, it's still 3 hours from Eugune.

I'm a second year student here at the University of Oregon and kids, this is no ski college. If CU wasn't one of the most expensive public institutions I'd recommend it. But UO...nahhh

U of C or Mount royal College. If you like Arts and Shit the Banff School of Fine Arts, or if your looking for Hotel and Resort Managment, the Selkirk Mountain College in Nelson BC. U of C and Mount Royal are both in Calgary, you get a city of one million lots of rails, a "in city" ski hill 10 minutes from campus (UofC) and then nakiska, fortress, lake louise, golden, sunshine, panorama, fernie, and castle all with 3 hrs with buses leaving from all over the place. its easy to get city transport from the UofC campus to the buses, but thats only for dead end situations. most times if you go to "The Den" at the UofC or live on Campus you can run into people who ride and alwyas get rides up. fucken good times. Or go to the UBC campus in Kelowna, then your in the middle of all the action right from your dorm.

yeah...they say you dont have to go to mass, but most kids do. The campus was very boring and the kids seemed kind of dead when I visited

well im guessing you're in the states so it wouldnt be cheaper tuition. but I'm doing my first year at Simon Fraser University, at Burnaby BC (Pritty much Vancouver.) And well they seem to have a pritty sweet ski seen, there a ski club which makes some rad trips.And does like diving board and tramp trainning not to mention parties. We get a super cheap rate at Whistler like 350 for a season pass which is NUTS!!If you dont want to drive the 2 hours to Whistler there the in town options Grouse, mnt Seymore and Cypress. Ive only been to Grouse as Im not from around here but I hear they all have pritty goood parks. And I believe SFU was voted one of the best outdoor activities universitiues in the world. Cuz well its just that sweet!

Yeah, I would agree that for the best mix of Skiing, good acedemics, Pussy, dope town, other outdoor sports, and partying CU is without a doubt the best school out there.

im going to MSU right now. ive skiied at most of the places around and big sky has a sick park. good backcountry all around but the party scene has been real shitty since i got here. it has been dumping snow all day today though! october 4th and snowing fuck yeah

University of Utah, its got brighton, solitude, snowbird and alta about a half hour from campus, park city and canyons a little further... the best snow on earth, despite the popular belief, there are lots of parties... and so much kick-ass stuff for off season, whoever said there's nothing is a fuckind dumbass

I can't believe hardly anyone says University of Nevada Reno. 30 mins to an hour away from Tahoe with so many sick resorts to choose from. Most of them off cheap college passes as well and mammoth and June are around 2-2.5 hours away for a weekend road trip. Plus it's a pretty big party school with 24 liquir and gambleing and so on. U of U is also super sick because big and litle cotton wood canyons are so close and some of the best skiing in the US, but it has alread been mentioned.
As for any of you looking for a university by mountains it is definately worth looking a UNR.

Yeah, or U of Washington in Seattle, University of Puget Sound is also there.

Your mountains would include Alpental, Crystal, Baker. And you are close to Whistler, too.

if you want a good school with pretty damn good skiing nearby with passes super cheap check out CU dude. UNR, the U, dont compare when it comes to academics and partying. the economist recently ranked CU as the 11th best public university in the world.

UBC probably has much cheaper tuition than colleges in the states, and its a 2 hour bus ride from the campus. As of university life, i don't think it's very great since there are lots of rich chinese kids and not very much accomodation on campus, so everybody lives in town.

if you go to colordao to go to school and to ski you are an idiot. u of utah is 40 minutes max away from 7 resorts, plus they get way more snow than colorado i mean the U.P. gets more snow than colorado

Capilano College, 1 hour drive fomr whistler, 3 local mountains for night riding after skool or days off.....tution is 100$ per credit, full time student is 12 credits so tuttion is usually around 1200$ ski passes for local mountians 200$ and ski pas for whistler is 384.13 with student deal.
