it would be funnier if the ski patrol guy was canadian because that would imply that canadians always take a passive approach to everything and let others push them around.(which isnt true in some cases) but the joke wudda been better.

I heard this one from a bike movie.

The story of how Canada got it's name...
Originally Canada was just named Cnd on maps but while re-doing the maps one of the Canadian's asked his buddy, "Hey how do you spell Cnd?" and his buddy replies, "C eh, N eh, D eh." Thus forward Cnd was renamed Canada.
