Because I'm graduating high school this year and my sis is graduating from college, my family planned a trip to a place in the German Alps. Anyone ever been to Garmisch, Germany?
Don't go. It's too close to Munich and when it snows, the crowds are the worst I've ever experienced in Europe. The lifts suck. Old, slow trams that don't eat up the lines. Or shitty super-slow chairs that give you no vert. There is glacier skiing on top of the Zugspitz, but it's pretty flat for the most part and not connected to the rest of the lift system. The lack of investment in the lift system, is reflected in the park. It's weak.
You are much, much better going someplace in Austria, Switzerland or France.
But, that being said, if it is the only chance you have to ski in Europe, then go. But I will never go there again, and I've rarely said that about any ski area ever.
