There is no need to ask which ski size you need when your range of ski lenghts in question is only about 5cm, you will probably notice very little difference.

Lot's of kids get stuck wanting one ski that comes in 10 cm gaps though.

^true, and in that case asking size questions are acceptable. But there is a 99% chance that some one has asked the same question to compare the same skis.

just get something that's a bit smaller than you if you were on really short skis before or have little control, skis about your height or maybe a bit taller if you're used to bigger skis, weight alot, totally rip or ride powpow

for example, i'm like 178 cm and i only ride 169s. why? i had 160s before that and i didn't want to take a huge jump to skis pretty much my height. it's all whats comfortable to you, but if anything, don't get skis that tower way over you.

trial and error...you can ask for all the advice you want but you will never be able to give any advice before you go out there and ride some different size skis!! it's called demo skis people

^ for sure. But I am guessing most of the people asking the questions dont charge it very hard, or ski very often, because if you do you will get a really good feel for what you do and dont want in your ski. Really the best way to find ot is to try out differnet ski. Go to demo days, swap skis with a friend for the day, you dont even have to ride the exact ski you want, but just to get the feel of different ski.

Its to bad that those of us that are posting in this thread, are the only ones who will read it and we are the ones who dont need this info. We need a better way to post this info on subjects like this. Maybe we should expand the resources area with tips like these. But in an organized way, that people might read, not just one long essay.

^True, but there is no objective way to size skis. It really comes down to what you will be needing them for, what you like to ski, where you ski, how experienced you are. There are so many different factors that go into it, and I think I understand why people ask so many sizing questions. A lot of people already know what they want for the most part but just want to be extra sure becuase new skis are such a huge investment.

^wow, someone did a search and brought one back from the dead. Good to see someone use that function.
As for the size A 176 would be kinda large, but would definetly work. Espercialy if your gonna get bigger, or ride more all mountain then jib.

if it is all what is comfortable to you, then if you want skis that tower over you...why not? if u like your skis like that and you can handle them...then go for it.
