Oakley and Red Bull announce “The Community Project”
a 16mm Snowboard Film
Foothill Ranch, California April 11, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) – Oakley Inc. (NYSE:OO) is pleased to publicize the ongoing production and upcoming release of “The Community Project,” a super 16mm snowboarding film. This movie takes the viewer on an exciting journey through some of the world’s most desirable winter locations around the world.
The film features top talent such as Travis Rice, JJ Thomas, Zach Leach, Tyler Lepore, Terje Haakonsen, Bryan Iguchi, and Shaun White, while introducing upcoming riders such as Colin Langois, Sammy Luebke, Pat Moore and other friends. This film is sure to be one of the season’s most anticipated snowboard projects.
“The Community Project” allows its viewer the opportunity to come along for the ride and thoroughly explore worldwide locations. Each stop is filled with action packed adventure in settings such as New Zealand, Japan, Aspen/Snowmass, interior BC heli-boarding, Jackson Hole, Norway, Alaska, and much more.
Shot on Super 16mm film, the production team includes Rich Goodwin a veteran cinematographer with over 9 years of experience in snowboard filmmaking, accomplished editor and cinematographer Curt Morgan formerly with Grenade films, along with Circe Wallace and Travis Rice himself acting as producers. Matty Goodman retired pro and accomplished film-maker is also a producer as is Matt Swanson of Oakley sports marketing. The film is executive produced by Pat McIlvain and supported by Oakley and Red Bull.
The film will be released in August of 2005 with the world premier to be held September 8, at the Oakley headquarters in Foothill Ranch, Ca. “The Community Project” will be sold by Oakley retailers worldwide along with other action sport shops across the globe. A world premier tour is also slated to launch in the fall with dates and locations yet to be determined.
