Blending Text

Hey I was wondering if anyone could give me some tips on how to blend text into the background of an image in Adobe Photoshop.

I just thought of something else. Is there a way to make part of the text transparent?

yes when you creat the text it becomes a layer and then just adjust the layer opacity and fill to make it transparent. you do this in the layer window
