Hello,
I am looking at some skis right now, and I would like to get some help. Ive been skiing for two years, I am 5 foot 8, 130 pounds, and an agressive skier. I can ski double blacks with little hesitation, and I dropped a 15 foot cliff last year. Where I ski, we get over 350 annual, so there usually is not a shortage of soft snow.
My current quiver
-Head Mad Trix 163 (74 underfoot)
-Atomic Powder Plus, Fat Boy 165 (125/115/120)ish
I love my fat skis, as well as my skinny ones, but I am looking for a ski that will fit between the two. I dont want to go over 100mm (waist), because then my Atomics will be pointless. My Mad trix do well in the park, and on hard days, while I take my atomics out on 8-10 inches and above. They are great in the morning on powder days, but when it gets to crud busting, they flop and bounce around, killing my quads. I want a crud buster, but also a twin tip powder ski. If I am doing b.c. booters, I would like to be able to go both ways, which I cant on the current fatties. If the day isnt amazing, or the powder a day or two old, these would be what I would bring out. They would mainly be for big mountain/cliffs/jumps. I would like to have something stable under me if I am going big off of a booter, but they wouldnt be a park ski.
My choices so far:
-Mad trix Mojo 177 (last years, I can get them real cheap)
-Pocket rockets or Guns in a 175
-04 seth pistols 179 (If I can find them)
If you have any other opinions, please voice them.
Thanks
