Interest in indoor terrain park???

I was wondering how much interest you think there would be in Denver for an indoor terrain park? It would be open year around with an artificial surface called astroride. Then there would be blown snow in the winter on top of this surface. The question is if the astroride actually felt decent and you were able to have rails, a half pipe, and several jumps would you be willing to give the place a try or would you assume it sucks becuase it is artifical? Would you go ski at the place on weeknights or other evenings when the resorts are closed or you don't have time to drive to a resort?
Thank you for all your comments

What is worse no skiing in the summer or skiing on fake snow?? What about all those people who make setups in the summer? I predict that people would try it out simply because they have no where else to go and once they try it they would come back

er...wasnt there "supposedly" a dryslope being built i n denver? or did that idea get canned. Either way, the place would be too insanely packed. I-70 resorts get so gd flooded because.......there isnt shit to do in Denver. Same would happen if one of these places showed up.

As far as I know there is not one anywhere in the states...I think it would be great with a bar and restaurant...have it open till like 2 a.m. in the winter you could have snow in it...I like it

yea i'd probably go if there's rails. i'm not too keen on hitting booters onto that flat hard plastic crap though. it also has to be like dirt cheap.

I don't think you can compare Scotland to Colorado. To get good skiing in Scotland, you have to fly to Europe which is why dry slopes work there. I don't know about an indoor park in Den. it would be cool but I just can't help thinking about how most of the indoor skate parks have shut down because (I assume) lack of profitability. I probably wouldn't go myself. You can hike for snow almost year-round and at least build kickers. And if it's rails you're after, you can get snow from an ice rink and do on an urban mission.
If it happens it will be an impressive (and expensive) investment, that's for sure.

its true. it would be expensive and shit but the concept is pretty cool if done right. I think resorts like vail or aspen or keystone should hold small to medium sized rail jams in the summer either at the resorts or in denver/boulder etc to get some hype goin for upcoming seasons. they cost practically nothing to stage and are serious marketing tools

concept is aaiight, but when i step back and look at it, the only person i know that would actually pay the entry fee to chill on artificial slopes is my little bro. and thats not good 2 biz, b/c little kids cant drive and have no $
mad props if it ever works tho.

if it had water ramps that would be even better, but most likely i am so anxious to ski in the summer that i would probably go once or twice a month!

im sry, but i just cant wait 2 c this thing built, w/ a full indoor park, and then c the kind of injuries that result from it. has ne ever had a rugburn? that times 100 will be the feelin when u fuck up a rail and land on ur face.

I think it would be sick if there were a ton of rails. The booter idea kinda sucks when you think of the rug burn involved when you eat shit.

I don't think many tourists would come in the summer but the locals would probably hit it.

I would only be interested if gretch6364 is not assosciated with it. After seeing the things you post in other threads, it appears that you're 15, and mentally challenged.

I'd totally try it out. But I don't know how well it would do in the long term. Pricing can be brutal with those things. Look at what happend with the Vans Skate Park.
