i think thats pretty sic i mean hes gunna be progressing the sport more than ever this year no doubt and it leaves the contest feild open to some young guns and just think of how god damn orgasmic his segments will be next year.

Tanner will not lose money, or sponsorships because of this......

Look at Seth Morrison, more sponsors and better paid than anyone in the industry and for what? For doing exactly what Tanner is talking about doing....pushing the backcountry and filming the craziest shit.

Progression will pay the bills.

what do josh dirksen...jeremy jones have in common??? they DONT REVOLVE THEIR SNOWBOARDING CAREERS AROUND CONTESTS...

Skiiers have been stuck in the park, having the only way to pay the bills to win the US open or x games... T-hall sees that that has to change.. do you really want to see tanner hall waste his talent throwing down the same run all season in a icy slopestyle course?
or do you want to see him getting nasty on sick ass rails and jumps that nobodies hitting


Armada is paying tanner to kill skiing.. it doesnt have to be at some lame contest, but they are paying him for the right reasons... BURTON will pay shaun white for winning x games but they are also paying romaine demarchi, jussi oksanen, jeremy jones, tadashi fuse, and a host of other AMAZINGly skilled riders not for their top ten finishes but for their mag ads, movie parts, and their team image

you dont even know tanner. and i highly doubt he will change his mind. if he lands wrong on one halfpipe or jump, snap, there go the ankles, and he knows that. i hate that all these kids that have never even seen tanner talk all this shit about him.

Jon always wins the x-games, he just never gets a gold medal. If tanner's not there they'll just find someone else to put on the top podium spot so Jon doesn't get it. Can't let Jon win!

Hahaha, sometimes I don't realize how people can be that stupid. There is surely none of you guys who knows enough Tanner to say that he's a faget or whatever you call him. You just don't know how really he's involved in the sport and what he has made to be the one that he is. Every segment he has done were innovative for the style as much as the level of his tricks. So you guys that always say shit about the pros, just look yourself in the mirror and tell you : Who the fuck am I to make fun of the people who made what we're watching now, who are our influences ? I think his view of skiing is great. Hopefully he get in to the BC a little more, it may just be me but in Year Book theres a segment he in and he skis like an absolute punter. Yes he on "boiler plate ice" but that is one of the reasons we have edges. The problem is that he pourtras an image that make me wonder if he knows what edges are. Im not tryin to offend any one. The only problem is if BC get more and more media then BC won't still be BC there'll be lifts there and it will become more and more acsesable. It may bring freeskiing out of the shadows but it may wreck it compleetly. What im really triing to say is that Tanner really has to be carefull about how he dose it. Cheers, Nick.

Seriously though, I really think Jon's run last year was the most fluid and precise slopestyle run I've ever seen. Def. should have won, but w/e.

tanners skiing in yearbook was way below hugos. of course it was. hugo is the best in the world. remember tanner was also skiing enarly center mounted skis. have you not noticed everyone who rides center mounted in pow looks kinda funny. he still can and will improve, but those lines were gnarly, admit it. plus his ksiing in session 1242 bigmountain was way better
