with who Bush might nominate next, Roberts should be the least of yur concerns.

THE ONLY REASON ROBERTS MADE IT IS BECAUSE 1 AND 1/2 YEARS AGO BUSH GOT 3 REPUBLICANS IN THE SENATE MAKING THE DEMOCRATES HAVE LESS OF A CHOICE.


Lol, yea i guess now bush has the power to appoint people to senate. The fucking lady retired, with a legitimate reason, and he just happened to be president. Of course he is oging to put someone of right wing power in. he feels his views are right, as do you when almost all of it is personal oppinion. If Kerry was president, he would have put a liberal Judge in the court. So stop running your mouth like you know whats going on.

actually now that roberts is in, the next slot will probably be filled with a minority liberal justice, so never fear...and if you didnt know roberts is filling the spot of a just as consevative justice in the first place, so the court is not essentially getting any worse....now that roberts is in, the next appointee will have to be liberal, otherwise the democrats will probably filibuster, and seeing as the republicans dont have enough votes to cluture, they would overturn anyone bush appoints that isnt more liberal...so pretty much dont worry about it

yeah dude seriously its not like roberts is that conservative anyway, he is pretty moderate from what ive heard. anyway i dont think the power of the president to appoint a supreme court judge is wrong at all. its a good way for a president to leave his mark on the government long after he is gone, democrat or republican

^ if I'm not mistaken, O'Connor was fairly liberal, one of the few judgges to rule in the Roe Vs. Wade case... I could be wrong but I think that is true

o'conner was also pretty moderate but she did lean a little bit to the liberal side but roberts replaced rhenquist not o'conner, bush is expected to replace her next week

^ again I'm fairly certain Roberts replaced O'connor, because she retired before rhenquist (sp?) died. He died at the very end of summer and Roberts was already goign through the appointment proccess before he died.
