^nah thats definately awkward. it might be ok if you are in like 7th grade or something, but do what other people have said. just hang out with her, that works the best. then you can get a feel for how things are going, and if its going well, dont be afraid to put your arm around her when you are sitting on the couch watching tv or something. it will all flow from there.
