Flare/Lincoln loop 180 in the pipe

OK, i am kinda stumped. I try to do this lincoln loop 180 in the pipe. My friend goes, 'dude you gotta work on that flare.' What the fuck, I do something that looks like a barrel roll, which is what a lincoln loop is, and do a 180. I check out some vids at expn.com, and almost all the flares in the pipe look like linkin loops. What the hell is the difference?

too many people associate them with eachother... lincoln 180 is a lincoln with a 180. a flare is a backflip 180, not the same thing

the only person i seen do a flare like the ones i see in big air was crichton, at i think it was snowjam, which looked soo sick. But look at candide, olsson and poirier.

I think that the confusion arises from the fact that people often refer to the lincoln style 'flare' as well as the backflip 180 flare so we basically have 2 different tricks with the same name.
